Epiousion
() is a Koine Greek adjective used in the Lord's Prayer verse "" ('Give us today our bread'). Because the word is used nowhere else, its meaning is unclear. It is traditionally translated as "daily", but most modern scholars reject that interpretation. The word is also referred to by , its presumed lemma (morphology), lemma form. Since it is a Koine Greek ''hapax legomenon, dis legomenon'' (a word that occurs only twice within a given context) found only in the New Testament passages Matthew 6:11 and Luke 11:3, its interpretation relies upon morphology (linguistics), morphological analysis and context. The traditional and most common English translation is ''daily'', although most scholars today reject this in part because all other New Testament passages with the translation "daily" include the word (, 'day'). The ''Catechism of the Catholic Church'' holds that there are several ways of understanding (which the ''Catechism'' calls ), including the traditional 'daily', but ...

Daly (other)
A disability-adjusted life year (DALY) is a measure of overall disease burden, representing a year lost due to ill-health, disability, or early death. It was developed in the 1990s as a way of comparing the overall health and life expectancy of different countries. The concept has become more common in the field of public health and health impact assessment (HIA). It combines both potential years of life lost due to premature death ( mortality) and to poor health or disability (morbidity) into a single metric. DALY, QALY and HALY DALY is closely related to QALY and HALY. A QALY (quality-adjusted life year) measures both the length and quality of life. QALYs are commonly used to assess the cost-effectiveness of medical or public health interventions and to guide decisions aimed at improving social welfare. However, QALYs measure only the benefit of medical interventions, not the overall burden of disease. Like DALY, HALY (health-adjusted life years) assesses the combined effect ...

Dailies
In filmmaking, dailies or rushes are the raw, film editing, unedited footage shot during the making of a motion picture. The term "dailies" comes from when movies were all shot on film because usually at the end of each day, the footage was developed, synchronization, synced to sound, and printed on film in a batch (in the future telecined onto videotape or disk) for viewing the next day by the director, selected actors, and film crew members. With the advent of digital filmmaking, "dailies" were available instantly after the take and the review process was no longer tied to the overnight processing of film and became more asynchronous. Now some reviewing may be done at the shoot or even on location, and raw footage may be immediately sent electronically to anyone in the world who needs to review the takes. For example, a director may review takes from a second unit while the crew is still on location or producers can get timely updates while travelling. Dailies serve as an indic ...
