Cossack Cross
The cossack cross ( uk, Козацький хрест, Kozatskyi khrest) is a type of cross pattée used by cossacks, the Zaporozhian Army and the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It is frequently used in Ukraine as a memorial sign to fallen soldiers and as military awards. It has also been adapted as part of the emblem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, and is depicted on the flags and coat of arms of several Ukrainian regions, districts and cities, like Konotop, Zinkov and Zolotonosha. The Ukrainian Registered Cossacks (URC) ( uk, Українське реєстрове козацтво); is a public organization that was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on 8 July 2002. The URC consists of nearly 70,000 cossacks. It has a hymn, flag, logo, insignia, awards and operates the ''Ukraine of Cossacks'' newspaper. Sandarmokh
Sandarmokh (russian: Сандармох; krl, Sandarmoh) is a forest massif from Medvezhyegorsk in the Republic of Karelia where possibly thousands of victims of Stalin's Great Terror were executed. More than 58 nationalities were shot and buried there by the NKVD in 236 communal pits over a 14-month period in 1937 and 1938. A thousand of the victims were from the Solovki special prison in the White Sea. It was long thought that the barges carrying them were deliberately sunk on the way to the mainland, drowning all the prisoners on board. Others were rounded up during the Great Terror in Karelia, in accordance with quotas for prisoners, 'enemies of the regime', and a variety of "national operations". Zolotonosha ( uk, Золотоноша , yi, זאלאטאנאשא) is a city located in Cherkasy Oblast (region) in central Ukraine. Located at around , the city serves as the administrative center of Zolotonosha Raion (district). It hosts the administration of Zolotonosha urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Konotop ( uk, Конотоп ) is a city in Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine. Konotop serves as the administrative center of Konotop Raion. Konotop is located about 129 km from Sumy, the oblast administrative center. It is host to Konotop air base, now held by Ukraine. Flag Of Volyn Oblast
Flag of Volyn region is a banner with aspect ratio 2 to 3. In the center on a red (color of ripe cherry) background is an isosceles cross of white (silver) color, touching the ends of the edges of the flag. In the upper left corner is one of the oldest versions of the historical crosses of Volhynia of the 15th to the 18th century centuries (so-called Cross pattée).
