Abigail Spanberger
Abigail Anne Spanberger (née Davis; born August 7, 1979) is an American politician and former Central Intelligence Agency, CIA officer serving as the List of current members of the United States House of Representatives, U.S. representative from since 2019. She is a member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party. Spanberger defeated Republican Party (United States), Republican incumbent Dave Brat in 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Virginia#District 7, 2018, ending the Republican Party's 38-year hold on the district. She won reelection in 2020 United States House of Representatives elections in Virginia#District 7, 2020 and 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in Virginia#District 7, 2022. In November 2023 Spanberger announced that she would be retiring from the House in order to 2025 Virginia gubernatorial election, run for governor of Virginia.
