Đồng Tháp Province
Đồng Tháp is a Provinces of Vietnam, province in the Mekong Delta and Plain of Reeds region of southern Vietnam. Đồng Tháp is from Ho Chi Minh City, bordered by Prey Veng Province, Pray Veng province (Cambodia) in the north with a length of more than ; Vĩnh Long and Cần Thơ in the south; An Giang in the west; and Long An and Tiền Giang in the east. History Đồng Tháp is a newly cultivated area from the 17th and 18th centuries, under the Nguyễn lords. The foundation of this area adhered to a powerful struggling history against nature, dangerous animals and aggressors. The south of Đồng Tháp province whose center is Sa Đéc plays a very significant role. Bassac River
The Bassac River (; Tonlé Bassac) or Hậu River ( 瀧後 or 後江) is a distributary of the Tonlé Sap and Mekong River. The river starts in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and flows southerly, crossing the border into Vietnam near Châu Đốc. The name ''Bassac'' comes from the Khmer prefix ''pa'' ("father" or "male") added to ''sak'' (សក្តិ) ("power, honor"), a Khmer word borrowed from the Sanskrit ''sakti'' (शक्ति). Sa Đéc
Sa Đéc is a Provincial city (Vietnam), Provincial city in Đồng Tháp Province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. It is a river port and agricultural and industrial trading center. Khmer Language
Khmer ( ; , Romanization of Khmer#UNGEGN, UNGEGN: ) is an Austroasiatic language spoken natively by the Khmer people. This language is an official language and national language of Cambodia. Nguyễn Lords
The Nguyễn lords (, 主阮; 1558–1777, 1780–1802), also known as the Nguyễn clan (; ), were Nguyễn dynasty's forerunner and a feudal noble clan ruling southern Đại Việt in the Revival Lê dynasty. The term ''tiền'' (chữ Hán: 錢) is used to refer to various currency-related concepts used in Vietnamese history. The name is a cognate with the Chinese ''qián'' (錢), a unit of weight called " mace" in English. It can refer to a unit of weight used in precious metal coinages as well as the number of cash coins in a string. The name was also used for different awards, both Chinese-style and Western-style awards given in Vietnam throughout different times of its history. The word ''tiền'' is also the Vietnamese word for the concept of money in general. An Giang is a province of Vietnam. It is located in the Mekong Delta, in the country's southwestern part. Geography An Giang is located in the upper reaches of the Mekong Delta. The Hậu Giang and Tiền Giang branches of the Mekong River are the province's dominant geographical features. With the exception of the west, most of An Giang is fairly flat and is criss-crossed by many canals and small rivers. This terrain has made An Giang a significant agricultural center, producing significant quantities of rice. The Cấm Mountains, also known as the Thất Sơn range or the "Seven Mountains", are located in the western Tịnh Biên District.
