Zohra Al Fassiya
Zohra Al Fassiya ( ar, زهرة الفاسية, he, זוהרה אלפסיה) was a Moroccan singer and poet. Considered as the queen of the melhoun and gharnati genres, and one of the pioneers of modern Arabic music, she was the first female recording artist in Morocco, and her songs were widely celebrated throughout Morocco and Algeria, where she collaborated with lyricists and musicians from Oran and Tlemcen. Although her songs were mostly secular in nature (being the popular music of the time in Morocco), many of the melodies have later been modified to be fit religious Jewish liturgical songs (called piyyutim) as well. Born in Sefrou, near Fez, at the feet of the mountains of Atlas in a modest Moroccan Jewish family, she started to sing at a very early age when she performed religious songs at her synagogue. Zohra Aghamirova ( az, Zöhrə Ağamirova; born 8 August 2001) is an Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career Junior Aghamirova started the season at Miss Valentine in Tartu, where she won bronze medal in All-around and qualified to three finals. She won silver medal with Clubs and brone medals with Rope and Ball. She won gold medal in All-around at the 2016 Azerbaijani Junior National Championships. She also won gold with Rope, silver with Ball and bronze with Clubs. Zohra Orchestra
The Zohra Orchestra, also known as the Afghan Women's Orchestra and Ensemble Zohra, is Afghanistan's first all-female orchestra, named after the music goddess in Persian writings. Founded in 2015, it has been in exile since the 2021 seizure of Kabul by the Taliban. History The Zohra Orchestra was formed in 2015 in Kabul by the Afghanistan National Institute of Music and its founder Dr Ahmad Sarmast. The institute was formed in 2008 with the goal of bringing a musical education to young Afghans in the wake of liberation from the Taliban, under whom women's rights in Afghanistan were severely curtailed. ''Zohra'' is a 1922 silent 35 mm short film from Tunisia by Albert Samama ('Chikly'). It was the first indigenous North African film production. The movie script was written by Chikly's daughter, Haydée Chikly, who also edited and starred as the key female protagonist in the film. Plot The plot of the movie evolves around a shipwrecked young French woman, who is rescued by Beduins. She lives with the Beduin tribe for a time. She is later abducted by bandits, but is rescued by a French aviator and reunites with her family. Tribal customs are displayed in detail in the film. Fatima Zohra Karadja (born 1949) is a Vice-President for the African Union's Economic, Social and Cultural Council for Northern Africa. Ms Karadja was born on April 20, 1949, in Algiers, Algeria. Zohra Begum Kazi (15 October 19127 November 2007) was the first Bengali Muslim female physician. She was awarded Tamgha-e-Pakistan (1964), Begum Rokeya Padak (2002) and Ekushey Padak (2008). Early life and family Kazi was born in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, United Provinces of British India. She has been called the Florence Nightingale of Dhaka.
