Zhob Division
Zhob Division is an administrative division of Balochistan Province, Pakistan. It was created in 1988 bifurcated from Quetta division. It had been abolished between 2000 and 2008 during the military rule of Pervez Musharraf. Loralai Division is carved after splitting Zhob Division, consisting of Barkhan District, Loralai District, Musakhail District and Duki District. Barkhan District
Barkhan ( Balochi: بارکھئوں, ur, , ) is a district in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. It shares its borders with the province of Punjab to the east and the Balochistan districts of Dera Bugti to the south, Kohlu to the west, Loralai to the northwest and Musakhel to the north. The district's headquarters is the town of Barkhan. It was granted the status of a separate district on 31 December 1991, prior to which it was a tehsil within Loralai District. Sherani District
Sherani or Shirani ( ur, ) is an entirely rural subdistrict in the Zhob division of the Balochistan province of Pakistan, with a population of 153,116 as of the 2017 census. There are six villages of note: Ahmadi Dirga (Ahmedi Derga), Karama, Zarkai Landawar, Shinghar, Tsappar Kili, and Manikhawa (Mani Kwa). The subdistrict lies within the Sulaiman mountain range, and its highest point is Takht-e-Sulaiman. Administrative history Zhob is the parent district of Sherani District. Prior to 2006, Sherani was a subdivision (subdistrict) of Zhob. Sherani District was created on 3 January 2006, following the bifurcation of Zhob District. Killa Saifullah District
Kila Saifullah District, Qilla Saifullah, or Saifullah Killa (Urdu and bal, , ps, قلعه سیف الله) is a district in northwestern Balochistan province, Pakistan. It was established as a district in 1988 comprising two former administrative units of Zhob District: the Upper Zhob sub-division and the sub-tehsil of Badinai, previously named ''Kashatoo'' and part of the subdistrict of Kakar Khurasan. History Early in the 13th century the country came within the sphere of the raids organised by Genghis Khan, the Mongol. In 1398 AD, an expedition against the Afghans of the area was led by Pir Muhammad, grandson of Amir Timur. Zhob District ( ps, ږوب ولسوالۍ, ur, ) is a district in the north west of Balochistan province of Pakistan. The population of Zhob District is estimated to 310,544 in 2017. Zhob River is used for irrigation in the Zhob District. Administration The 1998 census report lists two sub-divisions: Lower Zhob (comprising Zhob tehsil and Sambaza sub-tehsil) and Kakar Khurasan (encompassing the tehsil of Qamar Din Karez and the subtehsil of Ashewat). Duki District
Duki ( bal, دوکی, ur, ) is a district in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is located at an altitude of 1092 metres (3585 feet). It is sub-divided into union councils, mainly Vialla Duki, Zangal Rabat, Sadar, Civil Station, Nasarbad, Thal, Luni and Nana Sahib Ziarat. Its main revenue comes from agriculture and natural resources. Being a tribal society it has tribes: Tareens including Raisani, Kakar Shadozai, Nasars, Lunis. Duki is one of the least developed districts of Pakistan, not only lagging behind in development, but also health, education, infrastructure and many other facilities. It is the only district where two polio cases were reported in 2018. Musakhail District
Musakhail ( ur, ) is a district in the northeast of the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It became a separate district in 1992, prior to which it was a tehsil within Loralai District. Musakhail District is now part of Loralai Division is created after splitting Zhob Division. History After the first phase of the Afghan war of 1878-79 AD, the British took control of the northern areas of Balochistan under the Treaty of Gandamak. During 1879-84 AD, efforts were made to extend the British influence over the Khetrans and Musakhels of the, now Musakhel, territory. The Musakhels took part in outrages committed by the Kakars under Shah Jahan in 1884, but surrendered to the British government on the conclusion of the expedition in the same year. Loralai District ( ur, ) is a district in the northeast of Balochistan province of Pakistan. Loralai town is the district headquarters. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census the district had a population of 244,446, of which 130,484 were males and 113,950 females. Rural population was 189,597 (77.56%) while the urban population was 54,849 (22.44%). The literacy rate was 42.42% - the male literacy rate was 56.99% while the female literacy rate was 25.46%. 1,201 people in the district were from religious minorities.
