Zafar Order
The Zafar Order, or the Victory Order ( az, «Zəfər» ordeni), is an order of Azerbaijan. The order was created on the occasion of Azerbaijan being the victor in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. History On 11 November 2020, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with wounded Azerbaijani servicemen who took part in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, said that new orders and medals would be established in Azerbaijan, and that he gave appropriate instructions on awarding civilians and servicemen who showed "heroism on the battlefield and in the rear and distinguished themselves in this war." He also proposed the names of these orders and medals. On 20 November 2020, at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani National Assembly, a draft bill on amendments to the bill "On the establishment of orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan" was submitted for discussion. Heydar Aliyev Order
Heydar Aliyev Order ( az, "Heydər Əliyev" ordeni) is the supreme order of Azerbaijan. The order was ratified by legislation of Azerbaijan Republic by the Decree No. 896-IIQ on 22 April 2005. The Heydar Aliyev Order is given to the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan for special contributions to the prosperity, greatness and glory of Azerbaijan; for courage and bravery displayed in defense of the Motherland and state interests of the Azerbaijan Republic. The State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic ( az, Azərbaycan Respublikası Dövlət Sərhəd Xidməti), also known as Border Guard of Azerbaijan, is a governmental law enforcement agency in charge of protecting the borders of Azerbaijan. Mehriban Arif gizi Aliyeva (; az, Mehriban Arif qızı Əliyeva Paşayeva, ; born 26 August 1964) is an Azerbaijani politician and physician who is the vice president and First Lady of Azerbaijan. Babak Samidli
Babak Matlab oglu Samidli (; 1974-2020) was an Azerbaijani military officer, and a colonel serving in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He was deputy commander of the 1st Army Corps. Life and service Samidli was born in the Goychay District. In June 2018 he was promoted to rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, Samidli commanded Azerbaijani forces in the Madagiz offensive. On 27 October, he gave an interview to Euronews announcing the capture of the Madagiz dam. Samidli died post-armistice on 23 November 2020, near Madagiz (renamed to Sugovushan) from an exploded land-mine. Samidli was part of a group that consisted of Armenian officials, Red Cross officials, and Russian peacekeepers collecting dead bodies and identifying missing soldiers. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces ( az, Azərbaycan Silahlı Qüvvələri) were re-established according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Armed Forces from 9 October 1991. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) had originally formed its own armed forces from 26 June 1918 but were dissolved after Azerbaijan was absorbed into the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic from 28 April 1920. Ali Naghi oglu Naghiyev ( az, Əli Nağı oğlu Nağıyev; born 8 November 1958) is an Azerbaijani Colonel general, who serves as Chief of State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
