Zurab Ionanidze
Zurab Ionanidze ( ka, ზურაბ იონანიძე; born 2 December 1971) is a Georgian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Ionanidze spent most of his nearly 22-year career in Georgia where he won three league titles as well as three national cups. Being the all-time Georgian topscorer with 216 goals, he also set a number of other individual records in the national league and won nominations for Player of the Year three times. Ionanidze played several games for the national team. Club career Ionanidze spent his youth years at Samgurali where he made his senior Umaglesi Liga debut on 31 March 1990 in a 3–1 loss to Kolkheti Khobi. After three seasons in which he netted 15 times in 67 league ties, Ionanidze joined his hometown club Torpedo Kutaisi for a first spell. In 1993, Ionanidze moved to Samtredia. FC Kolkheti Khobi ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი კოლხეთი ხობი) is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Khobi. Following the 2024 season they were relegated to Liga 3, the third tier of Georgian football. The club has spent four seasons in the top division. History Established in 1936, Kolkheti played many years in Georgian championship during the Soviet Union. In 1988 the club won the title and advanced to the Soviet Second league where the next year they finished in the 5th place. After 1990, when Umaglesi Liga was formed, Kolkheti participated in initial three seasons. Later they spent several years in the second and third divisions. The 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification competition was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. Givi Kiladze Stadium
Ramaz Shengelia Stadium ( ka, რამაზ შენგელიას სტადიონი) is a multi-use stadium in Kutaisi, Georgia used mostly for football matches. Being the home stadium of FC Torpedo Kutaisi, it was built in 1950 and further expanded in 1962. In 2010, when Torpedo returned to Umaglesi Liga, the arena underwent redevelopments. The stadium is able to hold 12,000 people. It was initially named after Givi Kiladze, however in 2016 it was renamed after Ramaz Shengelia, a former Soviet / Georgian football player who was born in Kutaisi and started his career at Torpedo. The Stadium was extensively rebuilt in 2023, prior to being a venue for the UEFA Under 21 European Championship. According to government officials, it cost 35 million GEL, equal to 12,250,000 €. FC Merani Martvili is a Georgian association football club based in Martvili. Following the 2024 season, they earned promotion to Erovnuli Liga 2, the 2nd division of Georgian football. Being one of the youngest clubs, Merani have spent five seasons in the top division and once reached the final of the David Kipiani Cup. FC Kakheti Telavi was a Georgian football club based in Telavi. They played in the Umaglesi Liga, the top division in Georgian football from 2005 to 2007, but were relegated to Pirveli Liga, the Georgian second division. The club did not win a match in their relegation season of 2006–07. Kakheti Telavi finished seventh in the Pirveli Liga's Eastern (or Aghmoslaveti) Zone in the 2007–08 season. The club played their home games at Municipal Stadium. Previously, the club was known as FC Nadikvari Telavi. The club also twice won the Georgian Cup during the Soviet era, in 1972 and 1977.
