Zoran Bečić
Zoran Bečić (April 2, 1939 – March 29, 2006) was one of the most prominent artists of the Bosnian theatrical community in the 20th century. One of the founding actors of Sarajevo War Theatre, he studied acting at the Belgrade Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduating in 1966. Bečić's professional acting career began in Dubrovnik, but after two years, he joined Sarajevo's Malo pozorište (Little Theatre), the predecessor of today's Kamerni teatar 55 (Chamber Theatre 55). He made his ''debut'' in Radoslav Dorić's ''Noć ubica'' (''The night of murderers''). Following several notable roles, in 1971 he decides to try his luck in Belgrade, but returns to Sarajevo's National Theatre, two years later. For the next two decades, he continues his collaboration with Kamerni teatar 55, earning three ''Zlatni lovorov vijenac'' (Golden Wreath of Laurel) Awards at the international theatre festival MESS. Sarajevo War Theatre
The Sarajevo War Theatre () is a theatre in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded on 17 May 1992 on the initiative of Dubravko Bibanović, Gradimir Gojer, Đorđe Mačkić and Safet Plakalo during the Siege of Sarajevo. It was a gathering place for theatre professionals and Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, Academy of Performing Arts students for the duration of the war. Today, it is a commercial theatre and the premium experimental showcase in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the venues for the MESS (festival), MESS International Theatre Festival and the sole venue for the Open University of Sarajevo. ''Silent Gunpowder'' () is a 1990 Yugoslav war film directed by Bato Čengić, starring Mustafa Nadarević, Branislav Lečić, Fabijan Šovagović, Mira Furlan, Boro Stjepanović and Josip Pejaković. Plot Based on a novel by Branko Ćopić and set during World War II, the film tells the story of a Bosnian Serb village in the mountains of Bosnia and its villagers who found themselves divided along two opposing ideological lines in the face of the Axis invasion and subsequent occupation of the country, represented by the royalist Chetniks and the communist Partisans. These two opposing sides are personified in the Partisan commander nicknamed Španac (lit. Walter Defends Sarajevo
''Walter Defends Sarajevo'' (; ) is a 1972 Yugoslav partisan film, directed by Hajrudin Krvavac and starring Bata Živojinović, Ljubiša Samardžić and Rade Marković. The film centres around a mysterious figure named 'Walter', who is actively disrupting the attempts of German commander Alexander Löhr to retreat from the Balkans. The film's eponymous character, Walter, is loosely based around Vladimir Perić, whose ''nom de guerre'' was 'Valter'. Safet Plakalo
Safet Plakalo (4 March 1950 – 19 March 2015) was a Bosnian playwright, journalist, theatre critic and a founder of Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR). He was one of the few South Slavic writers of poetic dramatic orientation. His unique dramatic expression integrated the precise poetic form of a sonnet deeply into a dramatic form. Career Having written his first play, ''Vrh'' (The Peak), at the age of 26, he held the honour of being the youngest playwright in the theatrical history of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose play was staged by a professional theatre. The success of ''Vrh'' had secured him his first commission to write a play about the 1941 anti-fascist insurgence in the Romanija region near Sarajevo. ''Viza za budućnost'' () was the first post-independence Bosnian TV series. Production started on June 22, 2002, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first episode was aired on September 22, 2002. The final episode was broadcast on April 17, 2008. ''Viza za budućnost'' eventually became one of the region's most popular sitcoms. History ''Viza za budućnost'' began airing on 22 September 2002 on FTV. The series have got 206 episodes, divided into 6 seasons.
