Zoo Entertainment (record Label)
Zoo Entertainment was an American record label formed in 1990 by Lou Maglia. Zoo released three platinum records by the group Tool, as well as gold records by Green Jellÿ and Matthew Sweet. During the record company's early years, music industry executive George Daly was the label's original Vice President of A&R. History The label was formed in 1990 by Lou Maglia, former president of Island Records. As early as 1993, Zoo was having financial difficulties. The record label also distributed Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International Records for a short time. Clarence Anicholas Clemons Jr. (January 11, 1942 – June 18, 2011), also known as The Big Man, was an American saxophonist. From 1972 until his death in 2011, he was the saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Clemons released several solo albums. In 1985, he had a hit single with "You're a Friend of Mine", a duet with Jackson Browne. As a guest musician, he featured on Aretha Franklin's song "Freeway of Love". William James McAuley III (born July 18, 1975), alias Bleu, is an American musician and a record producer. He has written and produced songs for Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, John Oates, Michelle Branch, Hey Violet, Big Freedia, and the Jonas Brothers, and has won multiple Independent Music Awards for his work with Air Traffic Controller. Alcohol Funnycar was an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. They were primarily active from 1991 to 1997. History The band was formed in 1991 by Ben London, an Ohio native, in Seattle. Bassist Tommy "Bonehead" Simpson was a former member of Love Battery and Crisis Party. The band's original drummer was Steve Moriarty, but after a few shows, Moriarty left the band to focus on The Gits. He was initially replaced by Andhi Witherspoon. Alcohol Funnycar released their debut single in 1992 on Rathouse Records (an untitled single with the tracks "Pretense" and "Drive By"). The single was recorded with Jack Endino. Akinyele Adams (born April 23, 1971), better known by the mononym Akinyele, is an American rapper known for his sexually explicit lyrics, including his 1996 underground radio hit "Put It in Your Mouth". He appeared on "Live at the Barbeque" off of Main Source's 1991 album ''Breaking Atoms''. His first album, ''Vagina Diner'', was released in 1993. In 2001, he released ''Anakonda''. In 2010, Akinyele retired from the rap circuit. In 2016, he opened V-Live, a Miami Beach club. 7 Year Bitch was an American punk rock band from Seattle, Washington. The band was active between 1990 and 1997 and released three albums over that time.
