Zoe Bäckstedt
Zoe Jane Bäckstedt (born 24 September 2004) is a Welsh professional racing cyclist riding for UCI Women's World Tour Team , competing across road, cyclo-cross and track racing disciplines. At the 2021 UCI Road World Championships, Bäckstedt won the gold medal in the junior women's road race, and silver in the junior women's time trial. A year later, she upgraded junior time-trial silver to gold, winning the event by over a minute and a half before successfully defending her road race title with a dominant solo victory, and her third road world championship at junior level. At the 2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, Bäckstedt won a second world junior title, this time in the cyclo-cross discipline. Pontyclun
Pontyclun (or Pont-y-clun) is a town and Community (Wales), community located in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Pontyclun translates from the Welsh language as 'bridge [over] the Afon Clun, River Clun', the Clun being a tributary of the River Ely that runs through Pontyclun. The European Track Cycling Championships are a set of elite level competition events held annually for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling, exclusively for European cyclists, and regulated by the European Cycling Union (UEC). The UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships (named the UCI Juniors Track World Championships before 2016) are a set of world championship events for junior riders, for various disciplines and distances in track cycling and are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). In the period 2005–2009 the championships were part of the UCI Junior World Championships. Current events include: time trial, keirin, individual pursuit, team pursuit, points race, scratch race, sprint, team sprint, omnium and madison. Women's events are shorter than men's. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250 m track.
