Zdeněk Procházka
Zdeněk Procházka (12 January 1928 – 24 September 2016) was a Czechoslovak football midfielder who played for Czechoslovakia in the 1954 FIFA World Cup. He also played for AC Sparta Prague. Czechoslovakia ( ; Czech language, Czech and , ''Česko-Slovensko'') was a landlocked country in Central Europe, created in 1918, when it declared its independence from Austria-Hungary. In 1938, after the Munich Agreement, the Sudetenland became part of Nazi Germany, while the country lost further territories to First Vienna Award, Hungary and Trans-Olza, Poland (the territories of southern Slovakia with a predominantly Hungarian population to Hungary and Zaolzie with a predominantly Polish population to Poland). The 1954 FIFA World Cup was the 5th edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international Association football, football tournament for senior men's national teams of the nations affiliated to FIFA. It was held in Switzerland from 16 June to 4 July. Switzerland was selected as the FIFA World Cup hosts#1950 and 1954 FIFA World Cups, host country in July 1946.
