Albert Zahn
Albert Zahn was a self-taught sculptor from the Prussian province of Pomerania, who lived and worked in Door County, Wisconsin, Door County, Wisconsin, United States for most of his life. He is known primarily for his painted wood carvings of birds. He is also known for his depictions of angels, and for the creation of the Albert Zahn House, which he built with his wife Louise Zahn and adorned with hundreds of his carvings. Albert carved most of his sculptures from cedar, and then instructed Louise, who painted them. Some of his other notable subjects include maritime workers, Prussian soldiers, dogs, and deer. Peter Von Zahn
Peter von Zahn (29 January 1913 – 26 July 2001) was a German author, film maker, and journalist. Born in Chemnitz as a son of an officer, he grew up in Dresden and studied law, history, and philosophy. He was drafted at the beginning of World War II. After the war, he was one of the founders of the Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR). For three years, he managed the NWDR Studio in Düsseldorf where he introduced Anglo-Saxon style journalism with self-critical irony. In 1951, he went to the United States as a foreign correspondent. He worked until a very advanced age and produced over 3000 radio shows and 1000 television films. He received many awards such as the Adolf-Grimme-Preis (3), the DAG-Fernsehpreis in Silver and Gold, the Goldene Kamera and the Bavarian TV Award, and is considered the standard for subsequent radio and television journalism. Wilhelm Johann Karl Zahn (21 August 1800 in Rodenberg, Schaumburg – 22 August 1871 in Berlin) was a German architect, painter, art critic and design researcher particularly of Roman interior designs found in the ruins of Pompeii. Wilhelm was born as the fourth of five children of painter Bernhard Zahn, and his wife, Christiane, née Weis according to church records. Wilhelm Zahn (29 July 1910 – 14 November 1976) was a German ''Kriegsmarine'' officer during the ''Second World War''. He began his career as a U-boat First Watch Officer, then advanced to the rank of commander and was finally promoted to ''Korvettenkapitän'' on 1 April 1943. Arovane is the recording name of German electronic music artist Uwe Zahn (born 1965 in Hameln, Germany). He also releases under the moniker Nedjev. Life and career Zahn was born in Hameln in 1965. He first began experimenting with rudimentary audio equipment and keyboards when he was 15. Over the years he continued experimenting and developing his sound, even learning to play the clarinet at one point. Theodor Zahn or Theodor von Zahn (10 October 1838 in Moers – 5 March 1933 in Erlangen) was a German Protestant theologian, a biblical scholar. Shammai Zahn (6 July 1920 – 4 March 2001) was a Polish-born rabbi who was the chief rabbi of the Jewish community of Sunderland, United Kingdom and rosh yeshiva of the Sunderland Yeshiva. Early life Zahn was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1920 to Meshulam Zushe and Pessel Zirel Zahn. He held Polish citizenship. He began his education at the Würzburg teachers' seminary but fled to Britain in 1939, escaping the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. Education and community leadership Zahn studied in Yeshivas Toras Emes in London under Rabbi Moshe Schneider.
