Zack Cox
Zackary Kendrick Cox (born May 9, 1989) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. Amateur career Cox was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood of Louisville, and played for the school's baseball team. Cox was selected in the 20th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He did not sign, and instead attended the University of Arkansas, where he played college baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team. In 2009, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and was named West division MVP of the league's annual all-star game. Cox was a 2010 All-American. He set Razorbacks records for hits (102) and batting average (.429). Class AAA
Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Triple-A teams are generally located in smaller to mid-size cities which do not have sports teams of the “ Big Four” leagues, such as Syracuse, Toledo, Reno and Omaha, as well as larger metropolitan areas without MLB teams that also have a team in another major professional league, such as Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, Buffalo, and Indianapolis. Memphis Redbirds
The Memphis Redbirds are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. They are located in Memphis, Tennessee, and are named for their Major League Baseball affiliate. The Redbirds play their home games at AutoZone Park, which opened in 2000 and is located in Downtown Memphis. The team previously played at Tim McCarver Stadium in 1998 and 1999. A run batted in or runs batted in (RBI) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). Texas League
The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The Springfield Cardinals are a Minor League Baseball team based in Springfield, Missouri. The Florida State League (FSL) is a Minor League Baseball league based in the state of Florida. The Palm Beach Cardinals are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
