ZBS Foundation
ZBS Foundation, a small Non-profit organization, non-profit audio production company, was founded by Thomas Lopez (aka "Meatball Fulton") in 1970 with a grant from Robert E. Durand as a Art Commune, working commune, located on a donated farm in Upstate New York. ZBS stands for "Zero Bull Shit". The commune's purpose was to raise consciousness through media, specifically full-cast audio dramas. The foundation is "one of the most prolific producers of contemporary radio drama." The commune started with 18 people, and an island in the Hudson River was chosen as the location because it was between New York City and Montreal. Eventually, the commune disintegrated, and the foundation moved to create an artists-in-residence program over the next decade. James Gurney
James Gurney (born June 14, 1958) is an American artist and author known for his illustrated book series '' Dinotopia'', which is presented in the form of a 19th-century explorer's journal from an island utopia cohabited by humans and dinosaurs. Gurney is also a paleoartist who depicts and restores in his paintings extinct fauna such as both avian and non-avian dinosaurs. ''Dreams of Bali'' is a radio drama, produced by the ZBS Foundation.ZBS.orglink (Dreams of Bali) It is the eight of the Jack Flanders adventure series and the third of the Travels with Jack sub-series. Plot Jack travels to Bali to visit an old friend, Tiffany, and finds himself immersed in a saga of jealousy that extends down from the gods themselves to the mere mortals who fall under their spell. A spectral Balinese holy man helps Jack to become an avatar of Rangda, Queen of Witches in a dangerous attempt to save Tiffany from her plight. Recording and Writing Thomas Lopez, the author and director, of the drama spent a month in Brazil digitally recording sounds of the Amazonian rain forest and Brazilian cities. He first recorded the location sounds and then wrote the story around the sounds he recorded. More than 20 hours of sounds were recorded by Lopez in Brazil to be used for the story's aural setting. The Incredible Adventures of Jack Flanders is a radio drama produced by the ZBS Foundation and Meatball Fulton. It is the fourth of the Jack Flanders adventure series. Plot The series begins with the unexpected late-night delivery of an overstuffed green velvet armchair to Jack Flanders, courtesy of "Venus Velvet" (a person unknown to Jack).
