Yuzhno-Kurilsk (russian: Ю́жно-Кури́льск; ja, 留夜別, ''Ruyobetsu'') is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Yuzhno-Kurilsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. Population: It is the largest settlement on the Kunashir Island of the Kuril Islands. History The history of Yuzhno-Kurilsk is connected with the history of the Kuril Islands as a whole.
