Yulia Savicheva
Yulia Stanislavovna Savicheva (russian: link=no, Ю́лия Станисла́вовна Са́вичева; born 14 February 1987) is a Russian singer who represented Russia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Biography Savicheva was born on 14 February 1987 into a family of musicians in the city of Kurgan on the edge of Siberia, located east of the Ural Mountains. Frequent visitors to her parents' home included several Russian songwriters and music producers. Yulia's father (an avid piano player) would regularly compose songs for his daughter to sing; this would subsequently prove to be the beginning of Yulia's career as a singer. Savicheva's first onstage experience as a singer occurred at the age of four, with the group Agatha Christie. Her dancing there earned her a standing ovation. Kurgan, Kurgan Oblast
Kurgan ( rus, Курган, p=kʊrˈgan) is the largest city and the administrative center of Kurgan Oblast in the south of the Urals Federal District of Russia. Population: . Until 1782 Kurgan bore the name ''Tsaryovo Gorodishche''. History An urban settlement was established here between 1659 and 1662 as Tsaryovo Gorodishche (, meaning ''Imperial Citadel'') by Timofey Nevezhin, a farmer from Tyumen. In the ensuing years it was developed as a fortress town. It served as a frontier post and its fortified position enabled it to defend other Russian settlements from nomad attacks. Russia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul, Turkey. The Russian entry was selected internally by the Russian broadcaster Channel One Russia (C1R). Yulia Savicheva represented Russia with the song "Believe Me", which placed 11th and scored 67 points at the contest. Before Eurovision Internal selection On 22 January 2004, C1R announced a submission period for interested artists and composers to submit their entries until 15 February 2004. "Nobody Hurt No One" was the entry in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, performed in English by Belarusian singer Natalia Podolskaya. It was written by Victor Drobysh, Jussi-Pekka Järvinen, Mary Susan Applegate, and produced by Victor Drobysh and Iosif Prigozhin. Natalia Yuryevna Podolskaya (Natalla Padolskaja, Belarusian: ''Натальля Юр'еўна Падольская'', Russian: ''Наталья Юрьевна Подольская'', born 20 May 1982) is a Belarusian singer who performed for Russia at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest and was ranked No. 15.
