Yeti Airlines Pvt. Ltd. ( ne, यती एअरलाइन्स) is an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The airline was established in May 1998 and received its Air Operators Certificate on 17 August 1998. Since 2019, Yeti Airlines is the first carbon neutral airline in Nepal and South Asia. It is the parent company of Tara Air. As of 2021, Yeti Airlines was the second largest domestic carrier in Nepal, after Buddha Air. History Yeti Airlines was established by Ang Tshering Sherpa in May 1998 and received its Air Operators Certificate on 17 August 1998. It started operations with two de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otters. Ang Tshering Sherpa (entrepreneur)
Ang Tshering Sherpa (2 October 1964 - 27 February 2019) was a Nepali entrepreneur and founder of Yeti Airlines. Career Sherpa started his career in the 1990s at a local trekking agency managed by one of his brothers. In 1993, Sherpa founded Air Dynasty before founding Yeti Airlines in 1998. Sherpa also served as served as chairman of the board for Himalaya Airlines from 2014 until his death in 2019. Death Ang Tshering Sherpa, along with six other people, died in a helicopter crash while returning from Pathibhara Devi Temple, Taplejung, Nepal, on 27 February 2019. Air Dynasty Heli Service Pvt. Ltd. is a helicopter airline based at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, operating chartered helicopter services. The company was established in 1993 and mainly carries out domestic chartered helicopter flights throughout Nepal from its three hubs in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lukla. The European Union (EU) publishes a list of air carriers that are banned from entering the airspace of any of its member states, usually for failing to meet EU regulatory oversight standards. The first version of the list was published in 2006, on the legal basis of Regulation No. 474/2006 of the European Commission, issued on 22 March of that year. The current version of the list was published on 23 November 2022. Legal procedure The process by which an air carrier is listed is laid out in Regulation (EC) No 2111/2005 of the European Parliament and Council. Fly Yeti ( ne, फ्लाइयति, stylized as flyyeti.com) was a low-cost airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The airline was a joint venture between the Nepalese regional carrier Yeti Airlines and Air Arabia. The airline suspended all flights from 16 July 2008, citing political uncertainty. The company slogan was ''Pay less, fly more.'' Necon Air was a Nepalese airline based in Kathmandu. The airline was Nepal's first private airline company and was established on 14 September 1992 with one Hawker Siddeley HS 748 aircraft. The airline indefinitely suspended flights in 2003 due to financial difficulties and was delisted from the Nepal Stock Exchange in 2006. History Necon Air was established as Nepal's first private airline company in 1992. In 2001, the airline partly merged with two other local airlines, Shangri-La Air and Karnali Air. As a part of this, Necon Air took over Shangri-La Air's fleet of two Beechcraft 1900Ds.
