Yerköy
Yerköy is a town and district of Yozgat Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. According to 2000 census, population of the district is 48,889 of which 32,228 live in the town of Yerköy. The Mayor is Ferhat Yilmaz from the İyi Party ( İYİ). 2009 Great Union Party's rally A rally of the Great Union Party (BBP) was scheduled at 17:00 EET (15:00 UTC) on March 25, 2009 in the town, at which party leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu was expected to hold a speech before the upcoming local elections. Çağlayancerit is a town and district of Kahramanmaraş Province in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. Etymology The name of the district comes from the Turkoman tribe of Jerid. 2009 helicopter crash On March 25, 2009, Great Union Party's (BBP) leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu came to Çağlayancerit at 13:00 EET (11:00 UCT) by a chartered helicopter to hold a speech at his party's rally ahead of the local elections. 2009 Turkish Local Elections
Local elections were held in Turkey on 29 March 2009. The overall winner was the ruling party Justice and Development Party (Turkey), Justice and Development Party, although the party saw a decline in its vote relative to the 2007 Turkish general election, 2007 general election. Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu
Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu (December 31, 1954 – March 25, 2009) was a Turkish politician and member of the Parliament of Turkey. He was the leader and founder of the Great Union Party (BBP), a right-wing, nationalist-Islamist political party. Biography Yazıcıoğlu was born 1954 in a small village named Elmalı in Şarkışla of Sivas Province. He studied in Şarkışla from primary school to high school after that he was educated at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ankara University. He was a member of Grey Wolves struggling for nationalism during the 1970s. After 1980 Turkish coup d'état, he was arrested for being one of the leaders of Grey Wolves. The Good Party ( Turkish: ''İyi Parti'') is a nationalist, national conservative, Kemalist, and liberal democrat political party in Turkey, established on 25 October 2017 by its current leader Meral Akşener. Their fraternal party is the liberal-conservative Democrat Party. The party's name and flag is a reference to the emblem of the Kayı tribe.
