Yvonne Brewster
Yvonne Jones Brewster (; born 7 October 1938) is a Jamaican actress, theatre director and writer. She co-founded the theatre companies Talawa in the UK and the Barn in Jamaica. From 2000 to 2001, she portrayed Ruth Harding in the BBC television soap opera '' Doctors''. Early and personal life Born in Kingston, Jamaica, to a upper-middle-class family, Brewster said she was inspired to become an actress at the age of 16, when her father took her to the Ward Theatre "to see a French play, called '' Huis Clos'', written by Jean Paul Sartre. Barry Reckord
Barrington John Reckord (19 November 1926 – 20 December 2011), known as Barry Reckord, was a Jamaican playwright, one of the earliest Caribbean writers to make a contribution to theatre in Britain. His brother was the actor and director Lloyd Reckord, with whom he sometimes worked. Early years and education Barrington John Reckord was born in Kingston, Jamaica, where he grew up in Vineyard Town with his three siblings: two brothers, Carol and Lloyd, and a sister Cynthia. He attended Kingston College and after matriculation went on to study theology at St Peter's College in 1948. He left the island in 1950 after winning an Issa Scholarship to Cambridge University, where he read for a degree at Emmanuel College, graduating in 1953. Methuen Publishing Ltd (; also known as Methuen Books) is an English publishing house. It was founded in 1889 by Sir Algernon Methuen (1856–1924) and began publishing in London in 1892. Jeffery Kissoon (born 4 September 1947) is an actor with credits in British theatre, television, film and radio. He has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company at venues such as the Royal National Theatre, under directors including Peter Brook, Peter Hall, Robert Lepage, Janet Suzman, Calixto Bieito and Nicholas Hytner. Doña Croll (born 29 August 1953) is a Jamaican-born British actress. She is best known for her roles in soap operas, playing Pearl McHugh in Channel 5's ''Family Affairs'', Vera Corrigan in ''Doctors'', and Emerald Fox in ''EastEnders'', both on the BBC. She also played the regular role of nurse Adele Beckford in series 8 of ''Casualty'' (1993 to 1994).
