Yusuf Fehmi Genç
Yusuf Fehmi Genç (born 23 May 2002) is a Turkish weightlifter competing in the 73 kg division. He won the gold medal at the 2025 European Weightlifting Championships. Career In 2021, he won a bronze medal in his event at the 2021 Junior World Weightlifting Championships, Junior World Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. At the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia, Yusuf Fehmi Genç, competing in the 67 kg category, placed eighth in the snatch with 140 kg, gold in the jerk with 182 kg, and fourth in the total with 322 kg. With this success, he brought Turkey a gold medal in men's weightlifting for the first time in 7 years. Ordu () or Altınordu is a port city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey and the capital of Ordu Province. 2021 World Weightlifting Championships
The 2021 World Weightlifting Championships was a weightlifting competition held from 7 to 17 December in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Due to concerns about the rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant, Omicron variant and held shortly after 2020 Summer Olympics, Olympics and 2021 National Games of China, Chinese National Games, the tournament faced the absence of many strong competitors. 10 Olympic champions from Weightlifting at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo four months earlier, 15 world champion title holders, and entire teams from China, North Korea, Italy and Germany decided not to compete. The 2022 World Weightlifting Championships was a weightlifting competition held in Bogotá, Colombia in December 2022.
