Yuke's
Yuke's Co. Ltd. is a Japanese video game developer based in Osaka. It was established on February 26, 1993 by Yukinori Taniguchi. The company is best known for developing the ''WWE'' video game series, based on the professional wrestling promotion of the same name, until 2018. History Founded in 1993, Yuke's was named after founder Yukinori Taniguchi's high school nickname. The first two games that the company developed were the platform game '' Hermie Hopperhead'' and the pro wrestling game '' Toukon Retsuden''. The latter title was a best-seller in Japan. Though Activision purchased the rights to publish the game in North America and began localization work, only the first game was localized, becoming ''Power Move Pro Wrestling'' with a different roster of wrestlers. ''WWE 2K'', formerly released as ''WWF SmackDown!'', ''WWE SmackDown!'', ''WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw'', ''WWE SmackDown vs. Raw'', ''WWE'', and ''Exciting Pro Wrestling'' in Japan, is a series of professional wrestling sports simulation video games that launched in 2000. The premise of the series is to emulate professional wrestling, specifically that of WWE, formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The series began with ''WWF SmackDown!'' on the original PlayStation and has continued as an annual release (with the exception of 2021). ''AEW Fight Forever'' is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ Nordic. It is the debut title on home consoles and personal computers based on American professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Plans of a game for the promotion were reported as early as October 2019 and officially announced in November 2020, with the game being the first wrestling game developed by Yuke's since 2018 with ''WWE 2K19'', before the studio ended its working relationship with WWE and 2K in August 2019. Yukinori Taniguchi
is a Japanese businessperson and auto racing driver. He founded Yuke's, a video game developer company, in Sakai, Osaka in 1993. Early career As a child, Taniguchi became an enthusiastic arcade gamer, spending much time on early arcade games such as Space Invaders. By the time of high school, he was programming his own game and started working under contract for a local game company in Hiroshima. Two years later, he transferred to a highschool in U.S. and graduated from it in 1989. He entered into Osaka Prefecture University as an Engineering student but at the same time, he obtained a post as the chief of Osaka development department of Compile. In 1993, when he was 24 and in his third year of university, he set up his own company, Yuke's, in his own flat in Osaka and developed about 20 games before he graduated from the university. (NJPW) is a Puroresu, Japanese professional-wrestling Professional wrestling promotion, promotion founded on January 13, 1972, by Antonio Inoki, and based in Nakano, Tokyo. It is currently majority owned by card-game company Bushiroad, with TV Asahi and Amuse Inc. owning minority shares of the promotion. Hermie Hopperhead
is a platform video game developed by Yuke's and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation. It was released in Japan in September 1995. Gameplay The player can collect stars, which act as hit points throughout the level. After 100 stars have been collected, they can be used to hatch eggs. Eggs turn into animal assistants such as chickens, dragons, penguins or turtles. Different colored eggs will turn into different animals. These assistants can aid the player by shooting, or flying, and the player can have a maximum of three animal assistants at any time. If the player collects 400 stars, they can get an extra life. ''Power Move Pro Wrestling'' (NJPW 闘魂列伝 "Toukon Retsuden" or "Fighting Spirit Legend" in Japan) is a video game developed by Yuke's Co., Ltd. and published by Tomy for the PlayStation.
