Duan Yucai
Duan Yucai () (1735–1815), courtesy name Ruoying () was a Chinese philologist of the Qing Dynasty. He made great contributions to the study of Historical Chinese phonology, and is known for his annotated edition of ''Shuowen Jiezi''. Biography A native of Jintan, Jiangsu, he resigned his government post at the age of 46 to concentrate on his studies. A student of Dai Zhen, he divided Old Chinese Old Chinese, also called Archaic Chinese in older works, is the oldest attested stage of Chinese, and the ancestor of all modern varieties of Chinese. Sanya
Sanya (; also spelled Samah) is the southernmost city on Hainan Island, and one of the four prefecture-level cities of Hainan Province in South China. Huinong District (, Xiao'erjing: خُوِنْو ٿِيُوِ) is a district of the city of Shizuishan, in the northernmost part of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, bordering Inner Mongolia to the northwest, north, and east.
