You And Me Both
''You and Me Both'' is the second and final studio album by English synth-pop duo Yazoo (known in North America as Yaz), released on 4 July 1983 in the United Kingdom by Mute Records and in North America by Sire Records. The album's title was an ironic reference to the fact that the duo had grown estranged from each other and recorded much of the album separately; they announced their split a few weeks before the album's release. ''You and Me Both'' gave the group a "posthumous" number-one record in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, and reached number 69 in the United States. Singer Alison Moyet began a successful solo career, while Vince Clarke formed the short-lived project the Assembly with Yazoo's producer Eric Radcliffe before going on to greater and long-lasting success with the synth-pop duo Erasure. Yazoo (known as Yaz in North America) were an English synth-pop duo from Basildon, Essex, formed in late 1981 by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke (keyboards) and Alison Moyet (vocals). ''Melody Maker'' was a British weekly music magazine, one of the world's earliest music weeklies; according to its publisher, IPC Media, the earliest. Dalmatian (dog)
The Dalmatian is a dog breed, breed of dog with a white coat marked with dark-coloured spots. Originally bred as a hunting dog, it was also used as a carriage dog and also known as fire dogs in its early days while firefighters were still using horse-drawn carriages. 23 Envelope was the name given to the graphic design partnership of graphic designer Vaughan Oliver and photographer/filmmaker Nigel Grierson from 1980–1988. René Klijn
René Klijn (The Hague, 8 September 1962 – The Hague 5 September 1993) was a Dutch singer and model. He became famous in 1992 for discussing the fact that he was an HIV/AIDS patient in a controversial, but critically awarded episode of Paul de Leeuw's talk show ''De Schreeuw van De Leeuw''. In his final life year he scored a number one hit with the song "Mr. Blue". Biography He was a member of the boyband Bam-to-Bam-Bam. In the early 1990s he was diagnosed with AIDS, which he revealed to viewers in an episode of ''De Schreeuw van de Leeuw'' starring host Paul de Leeuw, broadcast on 28 November 1992. The episode was controversial because De Leeuw took the liberty to crack jokes about Klijn's illness, but at the same time it took away a lot of taboos and tension. "Mr Blue" is a song by English synth-pop duo Yazoo, which was released in 1983 on their second and final studio album ''You and Me Both''. The song, written by Vince Clarke, was notably covered by Dutch singer René Klijn in 1993. Yazoo version Background "Mr Blue" was one of five tracks to be written by Clarke for ''You and Me Both''. Persistent Vegetative State
A vegetative state (VS) or post-coma unresponsiveness (PCU) is a disorder of consciousness in which patients with severe brain damage are in a state of partial arousal rather than true awareness. After four weeks in a vegetative state, the patient is classified as being in a persistent vegetative state (PVS). This diagnosis is classified as a permanent vegetative state some months (three in the US and six in the UK) after a non-traumatic brain injury or one year after a traumatic injury. The term unresponsive wakefulness syndrome may be used alternatively, as "vegetative state" has some negative connotations among the public. "Ode to Boy" is a song by English synth-pop duo Yazoo. Originally the B-side to their 1982 hit " The Other Side of Love", it was later included on their second and final studio album ''You and Me Both'' in 1983. Whereas Yazoo's version is a sparse atmospheric track with synths and percussion, vocalist Alison Moyet later recorded her own version of the song in an uptempo indie-rock style for her 1994 album ''Essex''. Yazoo version "Ode to Boy" was originally recorded in 1982 and appeared as the B-side to Yazoo's 1982 non-album single " The Other Side of Love". It then appeared as an album track on the duo's ''You and Me Both'' album. The song was produced by Yazoo and Eric Radcliffe.
