2022 Canadian Federal Electoral Redistribution
A redistribution of federal electoral districts ("ridings") began in Canada following the results of the 2021 Canadian census. The Constitution of Canada requires that federal electoral districts that compose the House of Commons undergo a redistribution of boundaries following each decennial Canadian census. The redistribution process began in October 2021; it was completed in October 2023. It is based on data obtained during the 2021 Canadian census. It is also based on the practice of giving each district only one member, which has been in effect since the 1968 election. The changes to the federal electoral district boundaries took effect for the 2025 Canadian federal election, which was the first general election called after April 22, 2024. If the election had been called before this date, that election would have used the existing electoral district boundaries, which had been in effect since the 2015 federal election was called on August 4, 2015. Durham (formerly known as Clarington—Scugog—Uxbridge) was a federal Electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1968 and from 1988 to 2025. Its first iteration was created in 1903 from Durham East (federal electoral district), Durham East and Durham West riding (division), ridings. It consisted of the county of Durham. The electoral district was abolished in 1966 when it was merged into the Northumberland—Durham riding. It was recreated in 1987 from parts of the Durham—Northumberland and Ontario (federal electoral district), Ontario ridings. Georgina, Ontario
Georgina is a town in south-central Ontario. The northernmost municipality in the Regional Municipality of York, the town is bounded to the north by Lake Simcoe. Although incorporated as a town, it operates as a township in which dispersed communities share a common administrative council. The largest communities are Keswick, Sutton, and Jackson's Point. Smaller communities include Pefferlaw, Port Bolster, Roches Point, Udora, and Willow Beach. The town was formed by the merger of the Village of Sutton, the Township of Georgina, and the Township of North Gwillimbury in 1971 and incorporated in 1986. North Gwillimbury had been part of Georgina but became its own township in 1826. It took its name from the family of Elizabeth Simcoe, née ''Gwillim''. Whitchurch-Stouffville (2021 Canadian census, 2021 population 49,864) is a town in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada, approximately north of downtown Toronto, and north-east of Toronto Pearson International Airport. It is in area, and located in the mid-eastern area of the Regional Municipality of York on the ecologically-sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine. Its motto since 1993 is "country close to the city". Scugog
Scugog is a township in the Regional Municipality of Durham, south-central Ontario, Canada. It is northeast of Toronto and just north of Oshawa. The anchor and largest population base of the township is Port Perry. The township has a population of roughly 22,500. A smaller Scugog Township was also a historic municipality and geographic township prior to the amalgamation that formed the current municipality. History The original township of Scugog used to be divided between Reach and Cartwright townships in Ontario County, Ontario, Ontario County and United Counties of Northumberland and Durham, Ontario, Northumberland and Durham County, respectively.
