Yola Catiana Moreira de Araújo (born 13 June 1978), also known as Yola Araújo, is an Angolan singer, most well known for her work in the kizomba and semba genres. Biography Araújo has worked with other prominent Angolan artists such as Yola Semedo, Ary, and Anselmo Ralph. Some of her hits include "Quadradinha", "Não é justo não", "Eu sou" (feat. Fabious), and "Página Virada", among others. One of her music videos features the model Tyson Beckford. She was nominated for best Palop Female Artist at the 2020 African Entertainment Awards USA, held in Newark, New Jersey, United States. In 2020, she participated in a collaboration of 20 Angolan artists to sing the Angolan national anthem ''Angola Avante "" (, ) is the national anthem of Angola. Saurimo
Saurimo, formerly known as Henrique de Carvalho, is a city in Angola. It is the capital of Lunda Sul Province. As of 2014, Saurimo has a population of 393,000 people, which steadily grows as a result of migration. History The city was formerly known as Henrique de Carvalho, a Portuguese explorer, who visited the region in 1884 and first made contact with the local Lunda people. In 1956, Saurimo was raised to city status. Geography Saurimo is located in northeastern Angola at an elevation of above sea level. It is a garrison town and local market center. Economy The main economic activities in Saurimo include agriculture, farming, and diamonds. Other smaller industries include fishing and handicraft. Francisco Felipe da Conceição Gumbe, known by his artistic name Filipe Mukenga (born 7 September 1949), is an Angolan singer and composer. He is famous for songs such as ''Humbi humbi'', ''Nvula'', and ''Hailwa Yange Oike Mbela''. Biography Mukenga was born on 7 September 1949 in Luanda. He was partly raised in Massabi, in Cabinda province. He began performing in the 1960s, inspired by jazz musicians, as well as foreign musicians such as The Beatles and Charles Aznavour. He would also collaborate with various local groups. His stage name came while performing as part of Duo Misoso with José Agostinho Nvunje, during which time he became interested in languages native to Angola such as Umbundu and Kwanyama.
