Yilan County, Taiwan
Yilan, alternately spelled I-lan, is a County (Taiwan), county in northeastern Taiwan. Yilan is the northernmost county on the island of Taiwan, with a population of 450,031. Its seat is located in Yilan City. Before the Han Chinese Wu Sha led his company into large-scale reclamation in today’s Yilan in 1787, the area was mainly inhabited by the indigenous Kavalan people. During the Taiwan under Japanese rule, Japanese rule, much of the present day Yilan County was part of Taiwan under Japanese rule, Japan within its Taihoku Prefecture. When the Republic of China (1912–1949), Republic of China took over Taiwan in 1945, it became part of Taipei County until 10 October 1950 when 12 southeastern townships of Taipei County split off to form the present day Yilan County. A county, constitutionally known as a hsien, is a ''de jure'' second-level Administrative divisions of Taiwan, administrative division unit in the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan). PTT Bulletin Board System
PTT Bulletin Board System (PTT, ) is the largest terminal-based bulletin board system (BBS) based in Taiwan. It was founded by Yi-Chin Tu and other students from the National Taiwan University in 1995 as Professional Technology Temple, and it is currently administered by the Electronic BBS Research Society as a non-commercial and open-source BBS. PTT has more than 1.5 million registered users, with over 150,000 users online during peak hours. The BBS has over 20,000 boards covering a multitude of topics, and more than 20,000 articles and 500,000 comments are posted every day. Koelreuteria
''Koelreuteria'' , also known as chinese lantern tree, is a genus of three species of flowering plants in the family Sapindaceae, native to southern and eastern Asia, as well as the island of Fiji. Many fossil species are also known, suggesting that this genus had a wider range in the past. Description They are medium-sized deciduous trees growing to tall, with spirally arranged pinnate or bipinnate leaves. The flowers are small and yellow, produced in large branched panicles long. ''Cymbidium'' , commonly known as boat orchids, is a genus of evergreen flowering plants in the orchid Family (biology), family Orchidaceae. National Standard Time
National Standard Time is the official time zone in Taiwan defined by an UTC offset of +08:00. This standard is also known as Taipei Time (), Taiwan Time () or Taiwan Standard Time (TST). History The first time zone standard in Taiwan was enforced on 1 January 1896, the second year of Taiwan under Japanese rule. The standard was called with time offset of UTC+08:00, based on 120°E longitude. Lin Mao-sheng
Lin Mao-sheng (; born c. 1967) is a Taiwanese politician. Lin holds dual master's degrees in engineering and law. He worked for the Taipei City Government and under Wu Tze-cheng at the Public Construction Commission before he was appointed secretary-general of the Yilan County Government during Lin Zi-miao's first term as county magistrate. As secretary-general, Lin commented on plans to extend the Taiwan High Speed Rail system to Yilan, a provisional motion passed by the Yilan County Council related to the Senkaku Islands dispute, and on legal actions against Lin Zi-miao. After Lin Zi-miao won a second term as Yilian County magistrate, she appointed Lin Mao-sheng deputy magistrate. Nan'ao Township () is a Township (Taiwan), mountain indigenous township in the southern part of Yilan County, Taiwan, Yilan County, Taiwan. It is the largest township in the county. Datong, Yilan
Datong Township () is a mountain indigenous township in the southwestern part of Yilan County, Taiwan. It is the second largest township in Yilan County after Nan'ao Township. Geography It is predominantly populated by Taiwanese aborigines of the Atayal Tribe. The township is dominated by rugged mountains and wide river valleys.
