''Ye Maaya Chesave'' () is a 2010 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Naga Chaitanya and Samantha in her debut as lead. It was produced by Manjula Ghattamaneni under the banner Indira Productions with soundtrack composed by A. R. Rahman. The film featured cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing by Anthony Gonsalves, and dialogue by Umarji Anuradha. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as '' Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa'' starring Simbu and Trisha. The film received positive reviews from critics and was successful at the box office. Gautham Vasudev Menon (born 25 February 1973) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, film producer and actor who predominantly works in Tamil cinema, Tamil film industry. He has also directed Telugu cinema, Telugu, Hindi cinema, Hindi and Malayalam cinema, Malayalam films that were mostly either Multiple-language version, simultaneously shot with or remakes of his own Tamil films. He also has acted in some Malayalam and Telugu films. He has won two National Film Awards, three Nandi Awards and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award. Ekk Deewana Tha
''Ekk Deewana Tha'' () is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, featuring Prateik Babbar, Amy Jackson (her Hindi debut), and Manu Rishi in lead roles. The film is a remake of Menon's own 2010 bilingual film '' Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa'' (Tamil) / '' Ye Maaya Chesave'' ( Telugu). It features reused soundtrack and film score composed by A. R. Rahman, while the cinematography and editing were handled by M. S. Prabhu and Anthony Gonsalves, respectively. While in production, the film was titled ''Prem Katha'' but was renamed as ''Ekk Deewana Tha'' as the director wanted an abstract title for the film, similar to the original. The film, produced by Fox Star Studios, Photon Kathaas and RS Infotainment, was released on 16 February 2012 in two different versions with a number of endings to suit the taste of regional viewers. Subbalakshmi
Subbalakshmi (21 April 1936 – 30 November 2023) was an Indian Carnatic musician, composer, and actress who worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi cinema. She was noted for her performance in '' Kalyanaraman'' (2002), ''Pandippada'' (2005), and ''Nandanam'' (2002). Life and career Subbalakshmi was married to Kalyanakrishnan. The couple had two daughters and one son, including actress Thara Kalyan. Before entering film, Subbalakshmi was a musician and dance instructor at Jawahar Balabhavan and worked at All India Radio beginning in 1951. She is noted for being the first female composer of All India Radio from south India. She performed many concerts, was also a dubbing artist, and acted in some telefilms and albums.
