Yarrambat is a town in Victoria, Australia, 24 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Yarrambat recorded a population of 1,602 at the . Yarrambat is located within Greater Melbourne, beyond the Melbourne metropolitan area Urban Growth Boundary. History Prominent as a gold mining area in the late 19th century, much of the land was surveyed and cleared for farming once the mining boom subsided. The area was rich with local orchards including well known local farming family the Stuchbery's. Church services began in the area in 1884 with many denomination using the local schoolhouse. After purchasing land and working with local builders the St Michaels Anglican Church was officially opened on 21 February 1954. Electoral District Of Yan Yean
The electoral district of Yan Yean is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located on the fringes of Melbourne's northern suburbs and contains the towns of Hurstbridge, Plenty, Whittlesea and Yan Yean. Yan Yean was created for the 1992 election and has always been held by Labor, although usually marginally. The seat became notionally Liberal after the Craigieburn end of the electorate was removed due to population growth in a redistribution prior to the 2002 election, leading to Andre Haermeyer's decision to contest Kororoit instead. The Shire of Diamond Valley was a local government area about northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1964 until 1994. Woiwurrung
The Woiwurrung, also spelt Woi-wurrung, Woi Wurrung, Woiwurrong, Woiworung, and Wuywurung, are an Aboriginal Australian people of the Woiwurrung language group, in the Kulin alliance. The Woiwurrung people's territory in Central Victoria extended from north of the Great Dividing Range, east to Mount Baw Baw, south to Mordialloc Creek and to Mount Macedon, Sunbury and Gisborne in the west. The Shire of Nillumbik ( ) is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It contains outer northern suburbs of Melbourne and rural localities beyond the urban area. It has an area of 432 square kilometres and at th2021 census the Shire had a population of 62,895. It was formed in 1994 from the merger of parts of the Shires of Eltham, Diamond Valley, Healesville and the City of Whittlesea. The Shire uses the tag-line ''The Green Wedge Shire''.
