Yakasinek, Sultandağı
Yakasinek is a village in the Sultandağı District, Afyonkarahisar Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,330 (2021). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). It is located near Lake Eber, northwest from the town Sultandağı and east from Afyonkarahisar. Afyon-Pozantı connection is provided with the E981 highway passing through its borders. Economy The main source of revenues are apricot and cherry farming. The famous Napoleon cherry is an important source of export for village. A minor part of the population also stock farming. History There are ancient settlements of Romans and Oghuz Turks in the village. Name of the village is mentioned as ''Yaka Hasenek'' in the Seljuk and Ottoman records. The Afyon-Akşehir railway line built by Chemins de fer Ottomans d'Anatolie on 27 November 1895 was put into service. Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish language, Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the Villages of Turkey, villages are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. On 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. Lake Eber () is a Fresh water, freshwater lake in Afyon Province, Turkey. The lake used to be connected with nearby Lake Akşehir and was named ''Tessarakonta Martyron'', the Forty Martyr's lake, in premodern times. The Royal Ann or Royal Anne (also called Napoleon, Napoleon Bigarreau and Queen Anne) is a variety of cherry, similar in appearance and taste to the Rainier cherry. Biology About Royal Ann Royal Ann cherry trees are perennial semi-dwarfs that bloom early April with harvest in mid-summer. They are deciduous trees that can be characterized by dark green leaves and clusters of small fragrant white flowers that are about 2.5-3 centimeters wide. Royal Ann flowers are hermaphroditic, containing both male and female reproductive organs, however, the tree cannot self-pollinate. Another pollinator species is necessary in order for fertilization to occur, most commonly bees. Each flower goes on to produce a single Royal Ann cherry.
