Xızı
Khizi (, ) is the capital of the Khizi District of Azerbaijan. As of 2020, it has a population of 1,600. The city of Khizi is located on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. However, the mountains located in the city are not high and the highest point is at an altitude of 958 meters above sea level - Mount Saraku and 2203 meters - Mount Dubrar. In several areas, the mountain slopes are used as winter pastures, while others are used as summer pastures. Mikayil Mushfig
Mikayil Mushfig (, born Mikayil Ismayilzade) (5 June 1908, Baku – 6 January 1938, Baku) was an Azerbaijani poet of the 1930s. Mikayil Mushfig is considered one of the founders of the new Azerbaijani poetic style. Most of his poetry is about romance, nature, feelings. Despite this, he soon became one of the slandered and criticized poets in the Union of Soviet Azerbaijani Writers, and soon afterwards, Mushfig was arrested and executed by Soviet authorities at the age of 30 during the Stalinist purges in the Soviet Union, USSR. In 1956, he was exonerated posthumously. Nikita Khrushchev era of de-stalinization has resulted in Mushfig's poetry being famous in Azerbaijani society. Khizi District
Khizi District () is one of the 66 Administrative divisions of Azerbaijan, districts of Azerbaijan. Located in the east of the country, it belongs to the Absheron-Khizi Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Siyazan District, Siyazan, Shabran District, Shabran, Quba District (Azerbaijan), Quba, Shamakhi District, Shamakhi, Gobustan District, Gobustan, and Absheron District, Absheron-Khizi. Its capital and largest city is Khizi. As of 2020, the district had a population of 17,100, making it the least populated district of Azerbaijan. The census in Azerbaijan is a process of collecting, summarizing, analyzing and publishing the demographic, economic and social data of the population living in the territory of Azerbaijan. The next census in the Republic is expected to be held in 2029. General After the occupation of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the socialism began in Northern Azerbaijan on April 28, 1920. In 1926, 1937 and 1939, the percentage of Azerbaijanis among the population was reduced from 62.1% in 1926 to 58.2% in 1937. The number of Armenians has increased, and the percentage of it remained the same in the total population. Jafar Gafar oghlu Jabbarly, (, 20 March 1899, Khizi – 31 December 1934, Baku) was the eminent Azerbaijani and USSR, Soviet writer, the founder of the Azerbaijan Soviet dramaturgy. He was a director, playwright and screenwriter. Life After his father's death in 1902, Jabbarly's mother moved to Baku with her four children. In 1915, Jabbarly graduated from high school and studied electromechanics at Baku Polytechnicum for the next 5 years. Jabir Novruz
Jabir Novruz (born Cabir Mirzəbəy oğlu Novruzov, 12 March 1933 – died 12 December 2002) was an Azerbaijani and Soviet poet, translator, editor, and secretary of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers for three decades. Considered one of the most prominent authors of modern Azerbaijani poetry, his work is known for a romantic style that inspired patriotism. He was active in bringing important national issues to the attention of his fellow citizens, and was elected to the National Assembly in 1995.
