XS (character)
XS (Jenni Ognats) is a character appearing in media published by DC Comics, primarily as a member of the 30th–31st centuries's Legion of Super-Heroes. She is the granddaughter of Barry Allen (the second superhero known as the Flash), and cousin of Bart Allen (the second Kid Flash). Her first appearance is in ''Legionnaires'' #0 (Oct 1994). Jessica Parker Kennedy portrayed a variation of the character in The CW Arrowverse television series ''The Flash''. Fictional character biography Jenni Ognats is the granddaughter of Barry Allen, and was born in the 30th century. After her Speed Force abilities activate, Jenni joins the Legion of Super-Heroes as XS. During the Legion's first trip to the 20th century, XS is separated from them and meets her cousin, Bart Allen / Impulse. She eventually returns to her time via the Cosmic Treadmill. In the DC Universe, a metahuman is a human with superpowers. The term is roughly synonymous with the terms '' mutant'', '' inhuman'' and '' mutate'' in the Marvel Universe and '' posthuman'' in the Wildstorm and Ultimate Marvel Universes. In DC Comics, the term is used loosely in most instances to refer to any human-like individual with extraordinary, often paranormal abilities or other attributes, regardless of whether or not they are cosmic, mutant, scientific, supernatural, skill-based or technological in nature.
