XFM
Radio X is a British national commercial radio station focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock, and owned by Global. The station launched in 1989 as a pirate radio station named Q102, before being renamed Xfm in 1992. The station became a legally licensed London-wide station in 1997, and in 2015 began national broadcasting under the name Radio X. As of September 2024, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 2.1 million, according to RAJAR. The Music Machine (radio Station)
The Music Machine (TMM) is a pair of British radio stations that broadcast an alternative music format. It is owned and operated by Sammy Jacob, founder of the original XFM. The station dates back to NME Radio which broadcast from 2008 to 2013 under branding of the popular music publication ''NME''. It relaunched in 2018 under ''NME'' branding before renaming to TMM in 2023. The two channels, TMM 1 and TMM 2, are broadcast 24/7 and can be received online via TuneIn or through the TMM website, and on DAB locally in Norwich and in parts of London. GCap Media was a British commercial radio company formed from the merger of the Capital Radio Group and GWR Group. The merger was completed on 9 May 2005. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. On 31 March 2008, the company agreed on a takeover by the Global Radio for £375 million. This was completed on 6 June 2008, and the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Global Radio. On 1 November 2008, Global Radio discontinued using the name GCap Media. ''Mixed Up'' is a remix album by English rock band the Cure, released on 20 November 1990 by Fiction Records. The songs are remixes of some of their hits, reflecting the popularity of remixing of existing songs and dance culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2018, a sequel remix album was released, titled '' Torn Down''. Most of the songs are extended mixes. Several had been previously released on 12" singles, but some are completely remade, with Smith recutting vocals due to the original tapes not being available. The record closes with the extended version of a new single, " Never Enough". The remix of " Pictures of You" was originally released under the title "(Strange Mix)". Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician who is the co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the Cure, a post-punk rock band formed in 1976. His guitar-playing style, singing voice, and fashion sense, often sporting a pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, unkempt wiry black hair, and all-black clothes, were highly influential on the goth subculture that rose to prominence in the 1980s.
