World Business Council For Sustainable Development
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a CEO-led organization of over 200 international companies. The Council is also connected to 60 national and regional business councils and partner organizations. Its origins date back to the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit of 1992, when Stephan Schmidheiny, a Swiss business entrepreneur, was appointed chief adviser for business and industry to the secretary general of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). He created a forum called "Business Council for Sustainable Development", which went on to become ''Changing Course'', a book that coined the concept of eco-efficiency. Peter Bakker
Peter Bakker (born 1 August 1961) is a Dutch businessman who currently serves as president of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Education Bakker has a master's degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Career Bakker was appointed President of WBCSD in January 2012 after being CEO of TNT N.V. for 10 years. He is also the Chairman for War Child Netherlands, Deputy Chairman for International Integrated Reporting Council and a Co-Chair in the Sustainable Developments Solution Network. The Ethisphere Institute is a for-profit company that defines and measures corporate ethical standards, recognizes companies that excel, and promotes best practices in corporate ethics. The company is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company publishes ''Ethisphere Magazine'' and announces its World's Most Ethical Companies award once a year. Egil Myklebust (born 9 June 1942) is a Norwegian businessperson and lawyer. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the board of SAS Group. Born in Kvinnherad, Myklebust took a law degree from the University of Oslo in 1967, before starting work with the Norwegian Welfare Services (1968 to 1971).
