''Wolves Between Them'' (French: ''Les loups entre eux'') is a 1936 French spy film, spy thriller film directed by Léon Mathot and starring Roger Duchesne, Jules Berry and Renée Saint-Cyr.Crisp p.322 The film's sets were designed by the art director Jacques Colombier (art director), Jacques Colombier. It is a sequel to the 1935 film ''Second Bureau (1935 film), Second Bureau''. Two further entries in the series ''A Man to Kill'' (1937) and ''Captain Benoît'' (1938) were released. The film was remade as the 1939 British release ''Secret Journey (1939 film), Secret Journey''. Synopsis A design for a new French gas mask has been stolen from Paris by a German spy. Captain Benoît of the Deuxième Bureau is sent to Nazi Germany, Nazi-ruled Berlin to try and recover it. Léon Mathot
Léon Mathot (5 March 1886, Roubaix, Nord-Pas-de-Calais - 6 March 1968, in Paris) was a French film actor and film director best known perhaps for playing Edmond Dantes in ''The Count of Monte Cristo'' film serial in 1918. He appeared in the 1923 silent film ''Coeur fidèle'', directed by Jean Epstein. He starred in some 60 films mostly in silent film between 1906 and 1939. He turned director in 1927 whilst still appearing in several films and retired in 1953 directing well over 20 films.
