Wisconsin Senate, District 23
The 23rd Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Chippewa County and most of Clark County, as well as eastern Eau Claire County, eastern Dunn County, western Marathon County, and parts of northwest Jackson County and northeast Trempealeau County. The district is mostly rural, but contains the cities of Black River Falls and Chippewa Falls, most of the city of Marshfield, and part of the city of Eau Claire. Current elected officials Jesse James is the senator representing the 23rd district since January 2023. WEAU
WEAU (channel 13) is a television station licensed to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States, serving the La Crosse–Eau Claire market as an affiliate of NBC and The CW Plus. The station is owned by Gray Television, and maintains studios on South Hastings Way / US 53 Business in Altoona (with an Eau Claire postal address); its transmitter is located north of Fairchild, near the Eau Claire–Clark county line. History WEAU-TV signed-on December 17, 1953 under the ownership of Central Broadcasting Company. This ownership group was led by a predecessor to Morgan Murphy Media and also included the ''Eau Claire Leader-Telegram'' along with WEAU radio (790 AM now WEAQ at 1150 AM, and 94.1 FM now WIAL). Tom Tiffany
Thomas P. Tiffany (born December 30, 1957) is an American businessman and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Wisconsin's 7th congressional district since 2020. A member of the Republican Party, he was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2011 and the Wisconsin Senate in 2013. Tiffany succeeded Sean Duffy in Congress, winning a special election against Democrat Tricia Zunker. Early life and education Tiffany was born in Wabasha, Minnesota, and grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Pierce County, Wisconsin, with five brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1976 and earned his B.S. in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls in 1980. Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 7th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northwestern and central Wisconsin; it is the largest congressional district in the state geographically, covering 20 counties (in whole or part), for a total of 18,787 sq mi. The district contains the following counties: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, St. Croix, Chippewa (partial), Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Jackson (partial), Juneau (partial), Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe (partial), Oneida, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas, Washburn, and Wood (partial). Ron Kind
Ronald James Kind (born March 16, 1963) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for , since 1997. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district is in the western part of the state and is anchored by La Crosse, Eau Claire, Platteville, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Prescott, and River Falls. Kind is the dean of Wisconsin's congressional delegation. In August 2021, Kind announced that he would not seek reelection in 2022. Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District
Wisconsin's 3rd congressional district covers most of the Driftless Area in southwestern and western Wisconsin. The district includes the cities of Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Stevens Point, as well as many Wisconsin-based exurbs of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. It borders the states of Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. Republican Derrick Van Orden has represented the district since 2023. The political nature of the district is moderate, given its combination of an overall rural and suburban character counterbalanced by two significant urban centers (Eau Claire and La Crosse) and the Twin Cities suburbs. Donna Mummau Rozar ('' née'' Mummau; born February 9, 1950) is an American politician, businesswoman, and nurse. A Republican, she represents the 69th district of the Wisconsin State Assembly. The 69th assembly district comprises most of the city of Marshfield, along with rural eastern Clark County, northwest Wood County, and southwest Marathon County. She was elected in the 2020 general election. Rozar is also a member of the Wood County Board of Supervisors, serving since 2000. Fall Creek is a village in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,315 at the 2010 census. The village is bordered by the Town of Lincoln. History Fall Creek was founded in 1870. The village was named after the rapids on a nearby creek. The post office was established in 1870 as Cousins, in honor of Eau Claire businessman Henry Cousins. Karen Hurd
Karen Ruth Hurd (''née'' Willa; born 1958) is an American nutritionist, writer, and Republican politician from Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 68th Assembly district since January 2023. She is also currently a member of the village board of Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Biography Karen Hurd was born Karen Willa in Texas. Her parents divorced when she was a child, and she moved to Missouri, where she graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1976. She went on to attend Truman State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1980. While attending school, she was involved in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Army at the time she graduated from college. Bloomer, Wisconsin
Bloomer is a city in Chippewa County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city of Bloomer was 3,539. History Mr. Bloomer and a group of men from Galena, Illinois built a mill on the site in 1848. As winter approached he sold the dam to H. S. Allen and returned to Galena.
