West Virginia Route 307 is an east–west state highway located entirely within Raleigh County, West Virginia. The route takes on the shape of a loop, stretching from U.S. Route 19 and West Virginia Route 3 in Beaver in the west and US 19 and WV 3 southeast of Daniels in the east. The loop provides access to Little Beaver State Park and the Raleigh County Memorial Airport from US 19 and WV 3. Beaver, West Virginia
Beaver is a census-designated place (C.D.P.) in Raleigh County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,308 at the 2010 census. Etymology Beaver first acquired its name ''circa'' 1860 “from the great numbers of beavers abounding in the creeks during the early days of settlement”, according to ''A History of Shady Spring District'' (1979), compiled by the Shady Spring District Woman's Club. When the community became eligible for a post office in the early 1900s, the residents discovered another West Virginia town already had the name. The town adopted the name "Oxley", after a Huntington man who ran a clothing store there. In 1929 or 1930, Grover Hedrick bought Ritter Lumber Company and had the community name changed to "Glen Hedrick." Daniels is a census-designated place (CDP) in Raleigh County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,881 at the 2010 census. Geography Daniels is located at (37.739752, -81.124609). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.6 square miles (12.0 km), all land. Daniels is located on U.S. Route 19, south of Interstate 64. Raleigh County is a county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 74,591. Its county seat is Beckley. The county was founded in 1850 and is named for Sir Walter Raleigh. Raleigh County is included in the Beckley, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. West Virginia Route 3 is a state highway in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It runs from West Virginia Route 10 in West Hamlin in a general easterly direction via Beckley to West Virginia Route 311 at Sweet Springs, most of the way across the state. Route 3 crosses a particularly large part of the state's landscape. It goes through many counties including Monroe, Greenbrier, Summers, Raleigh, Boone, and Lincoln. Raleigh County Memorial Airport is three miles east of Beckley, in Raleigh County, West Virginia, United States. It is owned by the Raleigh County Airport Authority. The airport is used for general aviation and sees one scheduled passenger airline, subsidized by the Essential Air Service program. Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 3,630 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 2,626 in 2009 and 2,429 in 2010. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a ''non-primary commercial service'' airport based on enplanements in 2008 (between 2,500 and 10,000) but would categorize it as ''general aviation'' based in enplanements in 2010 (under 2,500). Grandview State Park
The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is a unit of the United States National Park Service (NPS) designed to protect and maintain the New River Gorge in southern West Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains.
