Archie Weller (born 13 July 1957) is an Australian writer of novels, short stories and screen plays. Early life Archie Weller was born in Subiaco, Western Australia, and grew up on a farm, ''Wonnenup'', near Cranbrook in the Great Southern region of the state. He attended Guildford Grammar School in Perth as a boarder. His mother was a journalist and his father was a farmer. As a young child Weller was encouraged by his grandfather to write. Writing Weller states he wrote his first book, ''The Day of the Dog'', "within a period of six weeks in a spirit of anger after his release from Broome jail for what he regarded as a wrongful conviction". It won the 1980 The Australian/Vogel Literary Award, in 1982 the inaugural Prose Fiction award in the ''Western Australia Week Literary Awards'', now called the Western Australian Premier's Book Awards, and was made into a film entitled '' Blackfellas'', which won two AFI Awards in 1993. Stuart Weller (26 December 1870, Maine, New York – 1927) was an American paleontologist and geologist. Weller studied geology and paleontology at Cornell University with bachelor's degree in 1894 and at Yale University with Ph.D. in 1901. Beginning in 1895 he worked at the University of Chicago, where in 1897–1900 he was a research associate, and became in 1900 Instructor, in 1902 Assistant Professor, in 1908 Associate Professor and in 1915 Professor of Paleontology and Geology. It is noteworthy to mention that Weller supervised Grace Anne Stewart, the first Canadian female to earn a B.A. majoring in geology, as she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Ronny Weller (born 22 July 1969 in Oelsnitz, Saxony) is a German weightlifter who competed for East Germany and later for Germany. During the 1990s, he was three times world champion, and broke world records 11 times. He participated in the Olympic Games five times, winning four medals. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he had to retire from the contest due to an injury he suffered during the snatch competition. Paul Weller (born 3 April 1959) is an Australian politician and was the Nationals member for Rodney in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2014. Paul John Weller (born John William Weller; 25 May 1958) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock/ new wave/mod revival band the Jam (1972–1982). He had further success with the blue-eyed soul music of the Style Council (1983–1989), before establishing himself as a solo artist with his eponymous 1992 album. Despite widespread critical recognition as a singer, lyricist, and guitarist, Weller has remained a national, rather than international, star and much of his songwriting is rooted in English society. Many of his songs with the Jam had lyrics about working class life.
