We Can! (Croatia)
We Can! – Political Platform ( hr, Možemo! – politička platforma) is a left-wing, green political party in Croatia formed by local green and leftist movements and initiatives in order act on national level for European Parliament and parliament elections. After the 2021 local elections in Zagreb, they became the largest political party in the Zagreb Assembly, winning 23 seats in total. Their mayoral candidate Tomislav Tomašević won a landslide victory on 31 May. Zagreb is OURS! ( hr, Zagreb je NAŠ!) is a municipalist green left political party from Zagreb, Croatia. 2020 Croatian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Croatia on 5 July 2020. They were the tenth parliamentary elections since the first multi-party elections in 1990 and elected the 151 members of the Croatian Parliament. 140 Members of Parliament were elected from geographical electoral districts in Croatia, three MPs were chosen by the Croatian diaspora and eight MPs came from the ranks of citizens registered as belonging to any of the 22 constitutionally recognized national minorities. The Social Democratic Party of Croatia ( hr, Socijaldemokratska partija Hrvatske, SDP) is a social-democratic political party in Croatia. The SDP is anti-fascist, progressive, and strongly pro-European. The SDP was formed in 1990 as the successor of the League of Communists of Croatia, Croatian branch of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, which had governed Croatia within the Yugoslav federation since World War II. The Democracy in Europe Movement 2025, or DiEM25, is a pan-European political movement founded in 2016 by a group of Europeans, including former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis and Croatian philosopher Srećko Horvat. The movement was officially launched at ceremonial events on 9 February 2016 in the Volksbühne theatre in Berlin and on 23 March in Rome. DiEM25's tendencies are alter-globalisation, social ecology, ecofeminism, post-growth and post-capitalism. Implementation of a universal basic income is widely defended among its members. The acronym DiEM alludes to the Latin phrase ''carpe diem''. Mima Simić
Mima Simić (born Ana Marija Simić; 4 February 1976) is a Croatian writer, an awarded film critic, translator and an LGBTIQ+ media activist. She holds degrees in Comparative Literature and English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb and Gender Studies from the Central European University. Simić was Croatia's first openly out LGBTIQ+ political candidate. Career Simić wrote for the ''Feral Tribune'' in the 2000s. Dario Juričan (born 16 December 1976) is a Croatian film director, producer, and political activist. In 2019, he briefly changed his legal name to Milan Bandić. Although he has written, directed and produced several fictional short films, he is best known for his feature documentary films ''Gazda'' and ''Gazda: Početak'', which examine Croatian businessmen Ivica Todorić and Miroslav Kutle.
