WLAK (1520 AM) is a daytime-only radio station licensed to the Calumet County community of New Holstein, Wisconsin, the station serves the Appleton-Oshkosh area, with a northwest of Chilton. The station is owned by Mark Heller through his operating company, Metro North Communications, and is locally programmed as 'True Oldies 1520'. In October 2012, the then-WLWB was granted a U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) construction permit to move to a new transmitter site and increase power to 350 watts daytime only. New Holstein is a city in Calumet County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,236 at the 2010 census. The city is located within the Town of New Holstein. History New Holstein is named after the Schleswig-Holstein region in Germany from which many early settlers emigrated.
