World Cricket League
The ICC World Cricket League (WCL) was a series of international one-day cricket tournaments for national teams without Test status (i.e., teams of Associate status) administered by the International Cricket Council. All Associate Members of the ICC were eligible to compete in the league system, which featured a promotion and relegation structure between divisions. The league system had two main aims: to provide a qualification system for the Cricket World Cup that could be accessed by all Associate Members and as an opportunity for these sides to play international one-day matches against teams of similar standards. The league began in 2007, where teams were allocated into divisions based on their performance in the qualification tournaments for the 2007 World Cup; the six initial teams in Division One were the teams that had qualified for the 2007 World Cup. World Cricket League Africa Region
The World Cricket League Africa Region or Africa World Cricket League was a one-day cricket tournament organised by the African Cricket Association for non-Test cricket, Test national cricket teams in Africa. As well as providing opportunity for national teams to play international matches against others of a similar standard, it also provides qualification into the ICC World Cricket League. The league contains three divisions played once every two years with promotion taking place between divisions. As yet, there has not been a Division One tournament played and so there are no current champions. Currently, there is no date set for this to take place. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier
The 2014 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2015 World Cup. The top two teams qualified for the World Cup, joining Ireland and for the first time Afghanistan, both of whom already qualified through the 2011–13 ICC World Cricket League Championship and maintained their ODI status. The World Cup Qualifier was the final event of the 2009–14 World Cricket League. Scotland was originally scheduled to host the tournament in July and August 2013. It was staged in New Zealand, from 13 January to 1 February 2014 after Scotland relinquished the right to host it. The 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup was the 11th Cricket World Cup, a quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men's national teams and organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 14 February to 29 March 2015, and was won by Australia national cricket team, Australia, defeating New Zealand national cricket team, New Zealand by 7 wickets in the final. The 2009 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place in April 2009 in South Africa. It was the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The tournament was the renamed version of the ICC Trophy, and was the final event of the 2007–09 ICC World Cricket League. 2011 Cricket World Cup
The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was the tenth Cricket World Cup. It was played in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, while the latter hosted World Cup matches for the first time. India won the tournament, defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets in the 2011 Cricket World Cup final, final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, thus becoming the first country to win the Cricket World Cup final on home soil. India's Yuvraj Singh was declared as the player of the tournament. This was the first time in World Cup history that two Asian teams had appeared in the final. European Cricket Championship
The European Cricket Championship was a national team cricket tournament for the European countries associated with the International Cricket Council. The tournament was played as a league system, where the teams were split into divisions. The competition was designed to encourage and develop the best players in countries where cricket was not a major sport and Europe's only Test cricket playing country at the time, England, did not enter a full-strength side. The ICC EAP Cricket Trophy is a regional division of the ICC World Cricket League, providing opportunities for cricket playing nations in the East-Asia Pacific Region to compete against one another. The ACC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Open only to List of International Cricket Council members, associate and affiliate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), it was contested biennially between 1996 and 2012, but was replaced by the three-division 2014 ACC Premier League, ACC Premier League in 2014 as the primary limited-overs competition for non-Test cricket, Test-playing ACC members.
