Wladimir Zwalf (1932-2002) was a Sanskritist and expert on Buddhist art and iconography in India and Tibet. An Assistant Keeper at the British Museum, he produced ''A Catalogue of Gandharan Sculpture in the British Museum'' (1996). Life and career Zwalf was born on 30 August 1932. Wladimir van Wilgenburg is a Dutch journalist and author writing predominantly about Kurdistan. He has written for Al-Monitor, Kurdistan 24, Al-Jazeera, and Foreign Policy, amongst others. He lives in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. Biography His interest for the Kurds began early in secondary school, as he wrote a thesis comparing Armenians and Kurds. Further on he wrote for the Kurdish focused blogs Azady.nl and Halwest.nl. In 2009, he began an internship at Rudaw in Iraqi Kurdistan. Wladimir Wertelecki is a board certified pediatrician, clinical geneticist and cytogeneticist. In 1974, he established one of the first free-standing Departments of Medical Genetics at the new South Alabama University College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, U.S.A. Following his retirement as chairman and emeritus Professor of Medical Genetics, Pediatrics, and Pathology, he continued his investigations into the prevention of developmental anomalies as a Project Scientist at the Department of Pediatrics, University of California San Diego. Wladimir Rudolfowitsch Vogel (17 February/29 February 1896 – 19 June 1984) was a Swiss (people), Swiss composer of Germans, German and Russians, Russian descent. Life Born in Moscow, Vogel first studied composition in Moscow with Alexander Scriabin, then between 1918 and 1924 with Heinz Tiessen and Ferruccio Busoni in Berlin, where he subsequently taught (1929–33) at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory. Wladimir Tchertkoff (1935 – 9 April 2023) was an Italian journalist. He was born in Yugoslavia to Russian-born parents. He released with Emanuela Andreoli in 2003 the film ''The Sacrifice'', a documentary on the Chernobyl liquidators, liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This film received an award from the Île-de-France (region), Île-de-France council for the best scientific and environment documentary in November 2004. He has also received the award of the best documentary of the Festival of Scientific Movies of Oullins, France. Vladimir Elikovich Skulener (; born January 24, 1958, in Bălți) is a German (formerly Soviet) chess player who won the Moldovan Chess Championship in 1981. FIDE Master. Trained by Lazar Begelman (1937–2006) in Bălți (Moldova), Skulener participated in ten Moldovan Chess Championships and was awarded the title of Master of Sports of the USSR in chess in 1984.
