John Witte
the Oregon State Beavers John August Witte (January 29, 1933 – March 17, 1993) was an American professional football tackle who played one season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU). He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the ninth round of the 1955 NFL draft. Early life Witte played college football at Oregon State University and attended Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was a consensus All-American in 1956. Witte was also a wrestler at Oregon State and finished second at the NCAA Championships as a freshman. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and became a corporal. William Witte FRSE (1907–1992) was a 20th-century scholar of the German language and German literature, working in Britain. In 1959 he postulated that Schiller's "Ode to Joy" was specifically rewritten in 1803 following influence on Schiller by the works of Robert Burns. Life He was born in Bratislava in Slovakia (then known as Pressburg) on 18 February 1907, the son of William G. J. Witte. His family travelled widely, and he was educated in Poland and Austria and then attended the University of Munich in Germany. After a year at the University of Berlin he ended in Breslau University (then in Germany, now Wrocław in Poland) where he gained a doctorate in economics in 1930. Russell B. Witte Jr. (December 13, 1916 – December 2, 2016) was an American backstroke and breaststroke swimmer. He was the U.S. Masters Swimming National Record Holder for the 95-to-99-year-old age group in the 50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events swum in 2012. Witte was the reigning National Champion for 2013 in the 50 yard backstroke, 50, 100, and 200 yard breaststroke. Witte was born on December 13, 1916. He swam for Ohio Masters Swim Club. Otto Witte
Otto Witte (October 16, 1872 – August 13, 1958) was a Germans, German circus acrobat and fantasist who said that he managed to be crowned King of Albania. In 1913, when Albania broke away from the Ottoman Empire, some Islam in Albania, Albanian Muslims invited Halim Eddine, a nephew of the Sultan, to come and be crowned king. Noticing his own resemblance to Halim Eddine, Witte said, he traveled to Durrës with a friend, the sword swallowing, sword-swallower Max Schlepsig. He claimed that he had succeeded in being crowned king by the local troops on 13 August 1913. Luke Witte (born October 19, 1950) is an American former college and professional basketball player who is now a church minister. He played at the collegiate level for Ohio State University and professionally for the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was during his time at Ohio State that he was severely injured in one of the more brutal on-court brawls in basketball history. High school and college Witte was a standout player at Marlington High School in Alliance, Ohio, where he scored over 1500 points during his career. He was a 1st team Class AA All-Ohio selection after his senior season. Leslie Witte (April 2, 1911 – December 23, 1973), nicknamed "Beanie" and "One Grand Witte", was a two-time consensus All-American basketball player for the Wyoming Cowboys basketball, Wyoming Cowboys in 1932 and 1934.
