Sir John Alexander Macdonald (10 or 11January 18156June 1891) was the first prime minister of Canada, serving from 1867 to 1873 and from 1878 until his death in 1891. The Wilson Building, also known as the Wilson Buildings, is a historic structure located in downtown Clinton, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. History The Clinton architectural firm of John Morrell & Son designed the building in the Chicago School style. Daniel Haring was the contractor who built it from 1912 to 1914. Three other phases expanded the building's size over the years. At one time the building housed a J. C. Penney store and a Walgreens. They both pulled out of the building and downtown Clinton in the late 1990s. The upper floors of the building housed professional offices. The building was already deteriorating when the Jacobsen Group bought it in 1998, and they stabilized the structure. Rock Island, Illinois-based Rock Island Economic Growth Corp started converting the building into 33 apartments in 2021. The $13.88 million project is expected to be completed in Mid-2022. The Wilson Building, also known as the Wilson Block, is a historic building located in Fairfield, Iowa, United States. The two-story Italianate commercial building was built in 1876 by James F. Wilson as an investment property. with In 1865 Wilson helped establish and served as president of the First National Bank in Fairfield, and in 1870, he and R. H. Hufford, C. W. Slagle, and George Acheson organized the Jefferson County Coal Company. Wilson had been a three-term Republican Congressman representing Iowa's 1st congressional district. Seven years after this building was constructed he began the first of two terms in the United States Senate. He had a Senate office in this building from 1883 to 1895. Wilson Building is a historic three-story building located at 431 S. Broadway in the Broadway Theater District in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles. History Wilson Building was built in 1909 and massively altered in 1932. Woolworth's occupied the building in 1937, with the business and building featuring a lunch counter, the longest in the world at the time. In 1979, the Broadway Theater and Commercial District was added to the National Register of Historic Places, with Wilson Building listed as a contributing property in the district. The building sold for $3 million in 2013 and ECF Art Centers moved into the building in 2014. The houses have been restored and are maintained to preserve their turn-of-the-century Victorian revival style architecture.
