Willy García
Willy Camilo García Archivol (born September 4, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder for the Barrie Baycats of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL). He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox. Career Pittsburgh Pirates García signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent on May 18, 2010. He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Pirates, batting .250/.333/.333 in 51 games. In 2011, he split the season between the Gulf Coast League Pirates and the Low–A State College Spikes, accumulating a .266/.322/.440 slash line with 5 home runs and 35 RBI. Altoona Curve
The Altoona Curve are a Minor League Baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve (but also alluding to the curveball, a type of pitch). The team plays in the Eastern League and is the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Schaumburg Boomers
The Schaumburg Boomers (originally the Schaumburg Boomers Baseball Club) are a professional baseball team based in Schaumburg, Illinois. The Boomers compete in the Frontier League (FL) as a member of the Midwest Division. The Boomers have won four Frontier League championships since their founding in 2012. Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games was held from July 27 to August 4. The venue for the competition was the baseball stadium located at the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. The tournament was part of the 2019 Pan American Games, 2019 edition of the Pan American Games, hosted by Lima, Peru. A total of eight men's teams (each consisting of up to 24 players) competed. Thus, a total of 192 athletes were scheduled to compete. After having been contested for the first time in 2015, women's baseball was dropped for this edition. Puerto Rico won the gold medal game over Canada, 6–1, and were undefeated during the tournament. Nicaragua finished in third place. 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier
The 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier is a baseball tournament that was held between January 29 and February 3, 2019 in Ibiúna and São Paulo, Brazil. The tournament qualified the last four teams to the Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games tournament in Lima, Peru. Four teams qualified for the 2019 Pan American Games: Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Qualification Canada and the USA qualified automatically along with the hosts Brazil, and five teams not qualifying for the 2019 Pan American Games, from the Baseball at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games also qualifying. The United States withdrew, meaning the Dominican Republic as the next best ranked team from the Central American and Caribbean Games replaced them. The Dominican Republic national baseball team ( Spanish: ''Selección de béisbol de República Dominicana'') is the national baseball team of the Dominican Republic. The team has won the Baseball World Cup in 1948 and World Baseball Classic in 2013. They are the first team to have won both world competitions. The American Association of Professional Baseball is an independent professional baseball league founded in 2005.
