Williamsport High School
Williamsport High School is a public high school in Williamsport, Washington County, Maryland, United States. Baseball team The school's baseball team, and its coach David Warrenfeltz, were the subject of a 2012 ''Sports Illustrated'' article. In a story written by Chris Ballard, Warrenfeltz discussed events affecting the team in early 2012 when the team's star pitcher and his prom date were killed in an automobile accident. Despite the loss, the team rallied to win the Maryland state high school championship. Warrenfeltz was also a close friend and teammate of former Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, who was killed in an automobile accident in 2009. A promenade dance or prom is a formal dance party for graduating high school students at the end of the school year. Gina Marie Groh (née Householder; born June 7, 1964) is an American lawyer who serves as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. Early life and education A native of Williamsport, Maryland, Groh received a Bachelor of Science degree, ''summa cum laude'' from Shepherd College in 1986. Nick Adenhart
Nicholas James Adenhart (August 24, 1986 – April 9, 2009) was an American right-handed baseball starting pitcher who played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In just four career games, Adenhart pitched 18 innings and posted a win-loss record of 1–0. A graduate of Williamsport High School, Adenhart was highly touted as a high school prospect until an injury in his final game required Tommy John surgery. The Angels drafted him in the 14th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft, and began playing in their minor league system after the surgery was a success. He spent three full seasons in the minor leagues before making his major league debut on May 1, 2008. Chris Ballard (born December 13, 1973) is an American sports journalist and a senior writer at Sports Illustrated.
