Talbot V
Talbot is a dormant automobile marque introduced in 1902 by British-French company Clément-Talbot. The founders, Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, 20th Earl of Shrewsbury and Adolphe Clément-Bayard, reduced their financial interests in their Clément-Talbot business during the First World War. Soon after the end of the war, Clément-Talbot was brought into an Anglo-French combine named STD Motors (Sunbeam, Talbot and Darracq). Shortly afterward, STD Motors' French products were renamed Talbot instead of Darracq. In the mid-1930s, with the collapse of STD Motors, Rootes bought the London Talbot factory and Antonio Lago bought the Paris Talbot factory, Lago producing vehicles under the marques Talbot and Talbot-Lago. Rootes renamed Clément-Talbot Sunbeam-Talbot in 1938, and stopped using the brand name Talbot in the mid-1950s. The Paris factory closed a few years later. William Talbot (piper)
William Talbot was a 19th century player, teacher, repairer and builder of the Irish bagpipes, commonly known as the uilleann pipes, the characteristic national bagpipes of Ireland. In 1821 he played for King George IV at the Dublin Theatre Royal when the King visited Dublin in August 1821. An article in the ''Dublin Morning Post'' recorded that, "His Majesty seemed much pleased with Talbot, and applauded him frequently." Early life William Talbot was most probably born in Ireland between 1781 and 1792, although no official records of his birth or parentage have been located. The most detailed information about his life comes from a memoir published on 16 December 1820, in the Belfast Commercial Chronicle. In this memoir he stated that he was born in 1781 at Roscrea, County Tipperary, losing his sight aged four years old following infection with smallpox. William Hammond Talbot (born October 23, 1943) is an American singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the bassist of Crazy Horse. Music career Born in New York City, Talbot started his musical career singing on street corners at the age of 14. He moved to New Jersey with his family the next year, and by 17 he had moved to Los Angeles. There, he befriended fellow expatriate New Yorkers Ralph Molina, Danny Whitten and Benjamin Rocco. Together they formed a doo-wop group called Danny and the Memories. After moving the group to San Francisco, they morphed into The Psyrcle, which eventually grew to encompass Leon and George Whitsell along with Bobby Notkoff. At this point, Talbot and his bandmates renamed the group The Rockets. In 1967, the group met Neil Young, who at the time was a member of Buffalo Springfield. William Phillips Talbot (June 7, 1915 – October 1, 2010) was a Ambassadors of the United States, United States Ambassador to Greece (1965–69) and, at his death, member of the American Academy of Diplomacy, the Council of American Ambassadors and the Council on Foreign Relations. William Henry Fox Talbot (; 11 February 180017 September 1877) was an English scientist, inventor, and photography pioneer who invented the salted paper and calotype processes, precursors to photographic processes of the later 19th and 20th centuries. His work in the 1840s on photomechanical reproduction led to the creation of the photoglyphic engraving process, the precursor to photogravure. William Talbot (18 May 1717 – 2 March 1774), often called "Talbot of Kineton" after his first living Kineton in Warwickshire, was an evangelical clergyman of the Church of England. Early life The son of Sherington Talbot of the 38th Foot and his wife Elizabeth Medget(t), and grandson of William Talbot the Bishop of Durham, he was the elder brother of Sir Charles Henry Talbot, 1st Baronet. He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford in 1737, graduating B.A. and M.A. in 1744. Talbot of Kineton Talbot was ordained priest by Thomas Secker, then Bishop of Oxford, at the end of 1745. A friend of Sanderson Miller, Talbot is thought by Hawkes to have owed him his appointment to the Kineton living. Miller made changes to Kineton Church, for Talbot, in a Gothic Revival style, in 1755–6.
