The provincial executive (, GS) is the Executive (government), executive branch of government of a Provinces of the Netherlands, province in the Netherlands. It is the equivalent of the municipal executive at the provincial level. The provincial executive consists of the King's Commissioner (chair) and three to seven Deputy (legislator), deputies (). The deputies are chosen by the Provincial council (Netherlands), provincial council, the elected assembly of the province. Each deputy has their own portfolio for which they prepare, coordinate and plan policy and legislation for the provincial council and execute legislation. The deputies have the duty to inform the provincial council on all aspects of their policy. The provincial executive functions as a collegiality, collegial body and most decisions are taken by consensus. Onderdendam
Onderdendam is a village in Het Hogeland municipality in the province of Groningen, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 575 in 2021. History The village is first mentioned in 1252 as "et ulderna domme". Even though it seemingly translates to "below the dam", the etymology is unclear. Onderdendam developed in the 16th and 17th century at the intersection of land- and waterways. In 1653, the Boterdiep was built which further enhanced its position, and it became a village of warehouses and traders. The Dutch Reformed church is a small domed church built in 1840 as a replacement of the church of Onderwierum. The court house was built in 1804 as a wide white plastered building on the main street. Later it became an inn. In 1811, Onderdendam became the capital of the municipality Bedum. Onderdendam was home to 498 people in 1840. Around 1900, Bedum started to outgrow Onderdendam. The Labour Party ( , PvdA or P van de A ) is a social democratic political party in the Netherlands. The party was founded in 1946 as a merger of the Social Democratic Workers' Party, the Free-thinking Democratic League and the Christian Democratic Union. Prime Ministers from the Labour Party have been Willem Drees (1948–1958), Joop den Uyl (1973–1977) and Wim Kok (1994–2002). Winsum
Winsum (; ) is a town and a former municipality in the northeastern Netherlands. On 1 January 2019 the municipality merged with the municipalities of Bedum, De Marne and Eemsmond to form the new municipality Het Hogeland. The town of Winsum was officially established in 1057 as the fusion of three historic villages: Obergum (North), Winsum (center) and Bellingeweer (South). The majority of the town's 8,000 inhabitants commute to the nearby city Groningen. The town boasts two traditional Dutch wind mills, two historic churches, two canals, and one of the Netherlands' oldest taverns. The two mills, "De Ster" ("The Star") and "De Vriendschap" ("The Friendship") were built in 1851 and 1801 respectively.
