William C. Skurla
William Charles Skurla (born June 1, 1956, in Duluth, Minnesota, United States) is the Archeparch (or Archbishop) of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh in the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church. He is also, ''ex officio'', the metropolitan bishop of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh whose geographic remit includes the entire United States and Canada. He succeeded Archbishop Basil Myron Schott. Skurla was appointed as metropolitan on 19 January 2012, by Pope Benedict XVI and enthroned at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Munhall, Pennsylvania, on April 18, 2012. Kurt Richard Burnette (born 7 November 1955) is an American Catholic prelate who serves as the Eparch of Passaic in the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church. He succeeded Bishop William C. Skurla. Burnette was appointed on October 29, 2013, by Pope Francis, and enthroned in a Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Passaic, New Jersey on December 4. On 20 October 2020, Pope Francis named Burnette as apostolic administrator of the former Slovak Catholic Eparchy of Saints Cyril and Methodius of Toronto. On 3 March, 2022, Pope Francis changed the jurisdiction and circumscription of the eparchy to establish the Exarchate of Saints Cyril and Methodius of Toronto. Munhall is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, on the west bank of the Monongahela River. The population was 10,774 at the 2020 census. It is a residential suburb of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
