Juliana Hatfield
Juliana Hatfield (born July 27, 1967) is an American musician and singer-songwriter from the Boston area. She was formerly a member of the indie rock bands Blake Babies, Some Girls, and The Lemonheads. Hatfield also fronted her own band, The Juliana Hatfield Three, alongside bassist Dean Fisher and drummer Todd Philips, which was active in the mid-1990s and again in the mid-2010s. With The Juliana Hatfield Three, she achieved her best-charting work, including the critically acclaimed album '' Become What You Are'' (1993), which featured the singles " My Sister" (1993) and "Spin the Bottle". She has performed and recorded as a solo artist and as one-half of Minor Alps with Matthew Caws of Nada Surf. In 2014, she reformed The Juliana Hatfield Three and announced the release of the album ''Whatever, My Love'' in 2015. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. The sound of indie rock has its origins in the New Zealand Dunedin sound of the Chills, Tall Dwarfs, the Clean and the Verlaines, and early 1980s college rock radio stations who would frequently play jangle pop bands like the Smiths and R.E.M. ''Pussycat'' is a studio album from American alternative rock singer and songwriter Juliana Hatfield, released by American Laundromat Records on April 28, 2017. It has received positive reception from critics. Recording and release Hatfield wrote and recorded the album solo over the course of 12days, playing all instruments other than the drums. The work was inspired by her displeasure with the 2016 United States presidential election. Critical reception From Metacritic, which assigns a normalized score out of 100 to ratings from publications, the album received an average score of 84 based on eight reviews, indicating "universal acclaim". Kenneth Partridge of The A.V. Club gave ''Pussycat'' a B+ and praises the singer for stretching her songwriting into protest songs. PledgeMusic was an online direct-to-fan music platform, launched in August 2009. It was started to facilitate musicians looking to pre-sell, market, and distribute projects, such as recordings and concerts.
